Love Is In The Air Collection

I've said it before and I'm saying it again - The Love is in the Air Stamp of Approval Collection is awesome! Didn't get yours yet? No worries, you can get one by clicking HERE - but hurry, they'll be sold out soon.

I used the Love is in the Air stamp and the coordinatind die set which is an add-on to make this card.

I started by stamping the word love with versamark ink down the left side of the panel and then heat set it with white embossing powder. Next I took some It's a Boy ink and sponged it on heavier on the left side and then lightening up as I moved to the right. I die cut the balloons and clouds out of white cardstock and then stamped the balloons with 2 of the new ink colors coming out soon - Shea Butter and Seafoam. I love this color combo. The balloon baskets are stamped with Blackjack ink. I added two of the balloons with craft foam and stamped the tiny heart a few times.
A super easy and FUN card to make.

Birthday Card Stash - DONE!

Hi Everyone! I'm sharing a sneak peek of one of my cards for the Birthday Card Stash - DONE! class that's happening over at StampNation right now. Today's tutorial is by Right at Home and it's all about elegant and sophisticated designs.

Here's a peek at my card...

I don't have any stamps from Right at Home right now but that's okay because you can use whatever supplies you have on hand. I stamped and embossed all the images with silver embossing powder and paired it with silver glimmer paper. I sponged only a few of the stamped images and left the others white.

Layer It Up

I used the daisies from Stampendous' Daisy Thanks, stamped it in Cp Ink color Sauna and painted it with my Gansai Tambi
watercolors from Kuretake to make this card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where the theme is 'Layer It Up'.
I used a pair of scissors to rough up the edges of the card panel, the desinger paper underneath it and the sentiment and then sponged all the edges with CP's Icing on the Cake ink. A little bit of linen thread and some craft foam for dimension and it's finished.

I haven't made a card like this in awhile and it was fun!
There's still time for you to join the challenge -
check it out HERE.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Garden Flowers at The Card Concept

I do NOT have a green thumb. Mainly because I can't stand weeding. I love gardens - both flower and vegetable - but I just don't have the patience to take care of it all. Maybe when I retire.
I love the look of wild flowers in a glass jar so when I saw this week's inspiration photo at The Card Concept I knew right away which image I was going to color.

I came across this image at a free coloring page site a while back - sorry but I don't remember which one. If you recognize it please let me know so I can give credit to the right place.
I printed it out on some watercolor paper from Stampin' Up and used my Gansai Tambi watercolors to color it all in. I love how the vase turned out but looking at it now I wish I drew in some more flowers or some baby's breath and some leaves to fill it up more.
I used some Wood Textures DSP from Stampin' Up for the background and  decided against adding a sentiment on the front. I'll add that to the inside when I send it.

Isn't the photo pretty!
How does it inspire you?

challenge. I look forward to seeing your card in the gallery.

The Birthday Celebration Continues!

The Birthday Celebration at StampNation is in full swing. Today's
theme is Cards for kids and the tutorial is hosted by Crafted in Joy. I'll definitely be checking out their store!

My card uses a stamp and die set that has been waiting very patiently on
my desk to be inked up. I went on a bit of a buying spree not too long ago
but I think I bought more than I have time for.  Please don't tell me I'm the
only one that does that. Don't worry though, I'll definitely make time haha.

The stamp and die set I used is an adorable one from Lawn Fawn called

First I sponged the sky with a variety of distress inks that I'll list below.
Next I stamped all the images on white cardstock and then had some fun
doing some very simple coloring with my Altenew markers and cut
them out with the coordinating dies.
I stamped a bunch of stars over the sky using some silver ink. I added the
rocket and the astronaut with some craft foam to help give them more of a
floating look.
Lastly I popped the sentiment up with some craft foam and added some
little white stars over the entire panel.
The piece connecting the rocket to the astronaut was my daughters idea
and it's one of my favorite parts of the card.

Before I added the little white stars this card didn't seem 'finished' to
me. Everything seemed to be floating in space but nothing was connected -
does that make sense? The litte white stars seemed to bring them all
together.
Don't you just love the little faces on the planets!

Masculine Monday #51 Woof Woof!

It's my brothers birthday this week so this one's for him. I'm putting it in the mail today. He doesn't read my blog so I'm not worried about him seeing it before it arrives.
The dog looks like his dog Poppy who is the smartest dog I've ever met!
And she always has to have the last word. If you tell her to get down and
she doesn't want to, she'll do it but she makes this noise that says
'I'll do it but I'm not happy about it'.
It's hilarious!

I kept the card really simple as I wanted the focus to be the dog. I did
some quick and 'shaggy' coloring with some prismacolor pencil crayons. I
added a couple of little googly eyes for a little fun and a quick little sentiment.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Some Birthday Fun

Hello everyone!
The third challenge is up for the Birthday Card Stash - DONE! class that is
happening over at StampNation and it is hosted by Brutus Monroe.
They shared a great tutorial for a new take on a fun style of card. I'm
going to be giving it a try later today.

I made a coffee card to share with you all today.
I'm not a coffee drinker, never have been, never will be but I love to make
coffee cards. Is that strange?
I just pretend there's chai tea in the mugs :)

I combined 3 challenges for this card:
CAS-ual Fridays - more coffee please

Seize the Birthday - one layer card

and
StampNation - birthday card stash - done!

The sentiment is from a CAS-ual Fridays set called Whole Shebang - I love
how big it is. The cups are from an oldie called Hot Hot Hot by Fresh Squeezed Stamps - you can't buy it anymore but I love the set so I keep using it.
The steam rising from the mugs is part of a stamp from a set called
 Tea-riffic by Taylored Expressions

I did a little masking to the mugs so one is slightly in front of the other and
then I colored them in with my Prismacolor pencil crayons.
Both the mugs and the sentiment are stamped with Midnight Ink from
CP Designs.

And the Crowd Goes Wild!

I spent Sunday in my craft room organizing and purging a LOT of stuff and
it felt great. I'm almost done and will share some pics of the before and
after soon. In the process of organizing I found quite a few new products
that I've yet to use, some weren't even opened yet???

I haven't done any Masculine Monday cards since before Christmas and I
wanted to start that up again.

I used a couple of Avery Elle sets for this card. The drummer and the
sentiments are from a set called Stoked and the crowd of hands is from
Hats Off.
For some reason I thought coloring on Kraft colored card stock was a
good idea but in the end I think this would've been better on white. Also
the spotlight effect??? I have no idea how to color that but it was midnight,
I was tired and I didn't want to take the time to figure it out. I wish I drew
an actual spotlight at the top and then had the light shining down.
I added the crowd of hands because doesn't every rock star drummer need
crowd of people going wild.

While I don't love this card, I don't hate it either. There were quite a few moments where it almost ended up in the trash. I still have so much to learn about shadows, light, how to create a scene and coloring in general
but I had a blast coloring this and trying something new. I'm sharing it because I'm on a journey to learn more about coloring and I want to share that journey with you and invite you along with me. I know not all my cards will be perfect while I'm learning, but they're not supposed to be - I'm learning and trying new things and that's the fun of it all.

Now to find some tutorials on how to color a spotlight.

and thanks so much for visiting!

Happy Birthday StampNation!

I woke up last night at about 2:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. Does
that ever happen to you? So I grabbed a couple of stamp sets that've been
waiting very patiently for me to ink them up and had some stamping fun.
I decided to make a couple of birthday cards in honor of StampNation and the fact that today is it's 11th birthday!
StampNation is an online community started by the amazing
Catherine Pooler for stampers that is like nothing I've ever experienced before. Besides the fact that there is a ton of tutorials and challenges for you to learn from and take part in, it's got a sense of community, support and friendship that is indescribable.

This first card uses the We Must Celebrate stamp set from the new
Occasions Catalogue from Stampin' Up!

I colored the animals in with some Prismacolor pencil crayons and then
decided it needed some balloons. I used the balloon from the Party Pandas stamp set which you can get for FREE during Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration event. For every $60 order you can choose from a collection of FREE PRODUCTS. The more you spend the more you earn.

Check out those Party Pandas on the card below.

I didn't think one balloon was enough so I stamped it a few times on some
scrap cardstock, cut each one out and added it to the card. I used a black copic multi-liner to add in the balloon strings.

and thanks so much for visiting!

The Card Concept is Back!

The Card Concept challenge is back with some amazing challenges
coming your way.

Check out the photo we have to inspire you for the first challenge -
it's so pretty - too pretty to eat.

I was inspired by the soft colors and the rosebuds to make my very
clean and simple card.

The rosebuds are from the Peony Bouquet stamp set from Altenew. I stamped it twice with Antique Linen distress ink from Tim Holtz onto some Premium White cardstock from CP Designs. Next I lightly colored them using my new Prismacolor pencil crayons from my husband.
The sentiment is from another Altenew set called Heartfelt Sentiments. The sentiments are definitely heartfelt and the fonts are beautiful. I stamped it
using one of Catherine Pooler's inks called Icing on the Cake.
The panel is die cut using the stitched stackable rectangles from Lawn Fawn. I used a layer of craft foam to add the panel to the card base with a
little piece of doily sticking out of one side.

Like I said, it's very clean and simple.

Now it's your turn.
Check out the rest of the DT's cards HERE
And then I hope to see your cards in the gallery.

Love is in the Air Stamp of Approval Release Day

It's the Stamp of Approval Love is in the Air colelction release day!

This is an AMAZING collection.
It went on sale this morning to those that are on the wait list. If you missed the wait list, the collections are now available to the public for purchase. BUT there's not many left.

I have another card to share with you today that uses the Postage Stamp dies and the hearts from all 4of the stamp sets: Bon Voyage, Love is in the Air, Happiness Enclosed and The World Awaits.
It's a very clean and simple card.

(sorry the pic isn't the clearest - I think I need some new bulbs in my lamps)

I started out by stamping the word Love from the Love is in the Air stamp set
in the bottom corner.
Next I gathered up all the hearts and stamped them randomly over the panel with versamark ink and then heat set them with white embossing powder.
I really wanted the sentiment to match the name of the collection but I didn't have the stamps to do it so I printed out the 'in the air' part of the sentiment on my laptop.

I have had an absolute blast making cards with this collection. I've loved seeing all the amazing cards that the other team members have made. They keep inspiring me to go make more.

How will this kit inspire you?
I'm looking forward to seeing all the different cards out in the blog world.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

To The Ends of The Earth

It's Day 3 of the Stamp of Approval Love is in the Air Blog Hops.
You can check it out HERE.

If you missed the other days, you can check out
Day 1 HERE and Day 2 HERE.

Remember to leave comments at each stop along the way because
Catherine is giving away 3 Love is in the Air collections to
3 lucky individuals who leave comments.

My first card today features the Bon Voyage stamp set, Love is in the Air stamp set, The World Awaits stamp set and the Postage Stamp dies.

I used Mint to Be, Sauna and Icing on the Cake inks to stamp with.
Love these colors together!
I kept it all simple by focusing the stamping mainly in one corner. The
panel is Catherine's premium white cardstock and the base is the her light
grey cardstock called Mirrors.
A super quick and easy card.

My second card is another quick and easy card and the color scheme
may just be my new favorite. It's defintely tied with the colors on the
first card.

This card features the Happiness Enclosed stamp set, the Bon Voyage
stamp set and the Postage Stamp dies. The ink colors are Melon Ice, Sauna, Mandarin Spice, Eucalyptus and Icing on the Cake. I saw Catherine make the patterned envelopes on another card, they looked so cute I had to give it a try.
The two panels are cut from the Postage Stamp dies - I love how they look
layered white on white - they make the colors pop!
A little bit of baker's twine and this is done.

Now, be sure you check out all the blog hops and leave your comments
at each stop along the way for your chance to win this amazing collection.
You'll find the links at the top of this post.

This collection goes on sale Tuesday January 9th at 9am. Be sure to
get your name on the Wait List. If you're a StampNation member you'll
want to join us for the Pyjama Party tonight where you'll get the
link to purchase before the public (one of the many perks of being a
StampNation member). If you are one of the lucky winners of a
collection then you'll receive a $100 Gift Certicate for a future purchase
