From The Bottom of My Heart!

I love this image from Gerda Steiner's monthly challenge and decided it was perfect for a thank you card. I paired it with two sentiments from an Altenew set called Heartfelt Sentiments. I used my Prismacolor pencils to color it all in.
The frame is from a box of old scrapbooking supplies that I found a while ago and have been trying to use up - love the color and all the little dots.

This card is for you!
For each and every one of you that take the time to visit my blog,
leave me a comment, subscribe to my emails or just pop in.
I appreciate you all!
Thank you!

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Getting Ready for 2018

I took the last week off from blogging and crafting to spend time with
family and enjoyed every minute of it!
We were lucky enough to have our daughter and her boyfriend come and
spend the holidays with us. He went home a few days ago but our daughter
stayed a little longer and will be going home tomorrow.
I've thouroughly enjoyed our visit and wish it could be longer.

I think it's safe to say I'm a nerd and proud of it!
I love, love, love planners and pens!
I'm spending some time getting myself organized for 2018 while
the family is watching the Canada vs USA hockey game.

I always felt that I would be so organized if I just found the right planner.
I've tried a few different types of planners and I've come to the realization
that it may not be the planner that's stopping me from being organized
hahaha
but I do believe I've found the one that gets me close to that goal.

I've been using a Leuchtturm 1917 bullet journal since June and I love the flexibility that it gives me. I can switch it up any time I feel that something's
no longer working for me. I keep track of blog posts and design team
committments and challenges. I can track my fitness goals. We've got a
trip booked with our daughters in the spring that I plan on doing a
countdown page for. I add motivational quotes all over the place.

Basically it helps to keep me organized and satisfies both my nerdy side
and my creative side!

A win win in my books!

I'd love to know what you use to keep yourself organized?

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

A Quick One

A quick card and post for you today.

The bird is from Tim Holtz Bird Talk set and I paired it with
the Santa hat and greetings from his Things/Talk set.
I used my Prismacolors to do some quick coloring on the bird and
the hat and I used the Eucalyptus and Pepperming Scrub inks
from Catherine Pooler's Spa Ink Collection for the sentiment.

My daughter thinks it looks a little creepy.
I think it's cute.
What do you think?

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

ink: midnight, eucalyptus and peppermint scrub (CP Designs)

Late to the Party...

... but having a blast!

Catherine Pooler released a new collection of ink colors in November
but I only just received mine. It took almost 5 weeks for the mail
to reach me - not sure why as I don't live in a remote area or some
obscure place with no mail delivery - but they did arrive and they
are beautiful!!!

Just look at them in that box!

They're a thing of beauty!

This collection is called the Spa Collection.
I can honestly say that these colors are my all time favorites!
The colors are right up my alley.
And well, if you've tried her inks before then you know they are
AMAZING!
If you haven't, it's not too late to ask Santa for some.
Just click HERE to shop in her store.

And while you're there, check out her stamps and dies too!
I used the Tis the Season set for my card.
There's a set of dies that coordinate with it but I did't use them
on this card.

Happy Stampin'

Christmas is for Kids

I spent some quiet time last night with my Prismacolor pencils coloring up these digital images from Mo's Digital - she has the most adorable images!
The sentiments are all from a CAS-ual Friday set called Snowy Sayings -
it's one of my most favorite sets - love the font!

This first one is called I Even Love The Box. What is it about an empty
box that appeals to a child? My kids were the same way. I used a piece of
dsp from my scrap pile and there was piece of doily that was peeking out
from under the dsp just begging to be used. Not sure why I saved it but
I'm glad I did.

This next one is called First Christmas. I simply popped the panel up with
some craft foam and added some sparkle to the ornament with my
Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.

The last one is called Twin Boy and Girl. It's not a Christmas image but
I couldn't resist it. I used a few stamps from the Honey Bee Stamps set
called Merry and Joy and stamped them repeatedly to make the
background. I love how that turned out and plan on doing a few more
like that with different sentiments.

Masculine Monday #50

This card was originally going to be just the sneakers and the sentiment on
a one layer card but...

I decided I wanted to add a little something.
With absolutely no plan in mind except the color scheme of black, red and
white I grabbed some patterened papers from the pile of dsp on my desk.
I thought 'I'll just put a strip down the side and that'll be that', but...

I put it on crooked so I tried to straighten it out with a little strip of
card stock but...

That didn't work so I tried to cut the edge to make it straight but...

I think you get where this is going...

That didn't work either so I used a die cut to save the image and the
sentiment and that's when I had the idea to put it into a frame using
some patterned paper and card stock. As I was cutting out the frame piece
I decided to cut out a section of it and pop that up for some diension.

This card is not what I originally had in mind but I love where it ended up.
Sometimes crafting without a plan can be so much fun!

Masculine Monday #49

Coffee Anyone?

Here's a funny thing you may not know about me.
I can't stand the taste of coffee!
I used to not even like the smell but I can handle that now.
I'm a tea drinker (as some of you probably are aware of) but I
don't like tea cups.
I like coffee mugs - big ones! Fun ones!

Now, here's the funny thing.
I love coffee houses and
I absolutely LOVE to make coffee cards!

Is that strange?

So for today's Masculine Monday card I decided to go with a coffee
theme. Clean, simple and all in one layer.

I stamped the mugs with versamark ink and then heat embossed with
white embossing powder.
Next I sponged on some Tim Holtz neutral colored distress inks and
stamped the sentiment down the side with the striped image.
The idea of the striped image was to look like washi tape.

I love CAS cards but can struggle with the one layer concept.
I like to pop up my card panel onto a card base and I do that a lot.
I discovered a little trick that helped with that on this card.
I took a thin black marker and drew lines around the edge to frame it
in and that ended my struggle!

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Now go and enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend.
(Or tea if you prefer)

Santa's Little Helper

The colors in this week's inspiration photo at The Card Concept are one of
my all time favorites. You can never go wrong with red, kraft, white and black!
It's a true classic!

I used the mug from Verve Stamps Get Together set and colored them with my Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations

Masculine Monday #48

I'm continuing with the Gus digi images from Bugaboo for this week's
Masculine Monday card.
I think they're hilarious!
And this one has the sentiment built right into it.
How easy is that!

I pulled out my Prismacolor pencils and all kinds of colors and just had
some fun coloring.
Next I mounted it onto some black card stock and then using some craft
foam I added it to a card base that I had embossed with the
Woodgrain Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!

Pretty easy!

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!
