Are You Excited for 2019?

I am!

I couldn't sleep last night so I curled up in the spare room with my Canvo and started getting organized for January writing down design team committments and due dates.

Then I started thinking about my goals. I have some things I want to accomplish in 2019. Actually if I'm being honest they are things that I've wanted to accomplish for a while but for reasons I can't explain I feel ready and decided that this is the year!
I wrote them down and just doing that much felt good. Then I made a plan. I'm going to use the Weekly Brain Dump page you see on the right to keep track of where I am and what I need to accomplish that week to get me closer to my goals.

What's the Canvo you ask?
It's Catherine Pooler's spin on the bullet journal.
It's a place for your calendar, your to-do lists and for your journalling.
It's for whatever you want it to be for.
You can do monthly spreads, weekly spreads, daily spreads, a combination of all of them or none of them. You could just make to-do lists, you could make a page for each of your goals and set out a plan for how you want to achieve it.
You can make it a journal, an art journal, a gratitude journal...

I think you get the idea.
You can make it whatever you want it to be.

You can be as creative or as minimalist as you want.
You can be creative one week and a minimalist the next.
The heavy weight paper works great with water-based markers, stamps and ink which allows you to be as creative as you want.

You can choose between these two covers.
The Aquatini Canvo or the Doodle Garden Canvo.

I couldn't decide so I ordered the Aquatini one and stamped the inside page to match the Doodle Garden one.
It's the best of both!

There's a whole world of planners and bullet journals out there and I've tried a LOT of them. My favorite thing about this one is the paper. The quality is like nothing I've ever seen before in any planner.

Yes, I am on Catherine Pooler's design team but I want to be clear about something. She did not send these out to us. We purchased these with our own money and when mine is close to being full, I will be purchasing another one.

She has all kinds of stamps and stencils and even a monthly Canvo Club you can join. You can see them all H E R E and I've purchased some of them BUT don't feel like you need to have everything. All you really need to get started is a Canvo and a pen. Your own style will dictate what else you want to have to use in your Canvo.

What are your goals for the New Year!
How are you going to keep track of them?
Whatever they are I hope you achieve them all.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

The Card Concept #105 - Out of This World

Hi Everyone! I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday. We're taking a bit of a break at The Card Concept so we have more time to spend with loved ones.
BUT we still have a challenge for you!
We would love for you to share a photo of either your Christmas tree or your favorite card that you made this year.

I had it narrowed down to a few but I decided to go with this one. It's from one of my Masculine Monday posts which you can view HERE. My daughter challenged me to make something for one of her friends and the challenge was a bit odd - but so fun to create! I was a bit skeptical at first but I really love how it all turned out.

Be sure to check out The Card Concept and see what the DT has to share with you. I'm looking forward to seeing everyones posts in the gallery.

Catherine Pooler Winter Release Blog Hop

Have you seen all the cards that have been made using these bundles?
There was an Instagram Hop on Wednesday, a Video Hop Thursday and today we have a blog hop for you. Be sure to check them all out and leave comments because Catherine is giving away some gift certificates to her store.

I have 3 cards for you today.
This first one features the following:
from the

I used the candles to stamp the border along the side. The colored panels on the front of the card are the mini ink pads just pressed onto a piece of paper and then cut out with a little white border. The candles and the banner are colored in with a blender pen and the candles are adhered with craft foam for dimension.

My second card today features the following:
from the

This card is really quick and easy. The images are stamped with Midnight ink and then using a blender pen I gave the flowers a light coloring. I drew a few lines around the edges and layered the panel onto some designer paper.

And my last card for you today features the following:
from the Smitten Bundle

I used the Rose stencil and some embossing paste to create the background panel. I also added some embossing paste to a piece of Smitten paper that was die cut with the Love Connection dies. A little torn paper, a sentiment and some sequins and this one's done.

Be sure to leave a comment at all the stops on the hop because Catherine is giving away a $25 Gift Certificate to use in her store. The winner will be announced on December 17th on Catherine's Blog.

Time to Hop!

Smitten, Snowy Day, Cake & Confetti AVAILABLE NOW!

Check it out!
Catherine Pooler has 3 new bundles in the store and they're available now.

All the products in each bundle are beautiful and coordinate perfectly together to make all kinds of cards.
I had so much fun playing with these bundles and made more cards with this release than I have with any other one before.

We had an Instagram Hop yesterday to start the celebration. Here are the two
cards I shared.

I stamped the background with the Say It With Love Stamp Set. The sentiment is stamped on vellum with the Doodle Hearts Stamp Set and cut out with the Love Connection Dies. A piece of torn designer paper from the Smitten Patterned Paper pack finished it off.

For this next card I stamped the large numbers from the Milestone Birthday Numbers Stamp Set with Twilight ink and the small numbers with Midnight ink. I used Lime Rickey, Flirty Fuchsia and Aquatini to stamp the circles. The sentiment is framed with Midnight cardstock and adhered with craft foam.

Catherine will be giving out TWO $25 Gift Certificates to her store so be sure to
Hop along and come back again tomorrow because we'll be celebrating with a blog hop.

Season's Greetings at The Card Concept

It's almost Christmas time and I've almost got all my cards made. That's really unusual for me. How are you all doing with yours?
We've got another aweome challenge for you this week at The Card Concept that is sure to inspire you. Check out the inspiration photo below.

My card was inspired by all the texture in that centerpiece. I was really drawn to the green but surprisingly enough I didn't put any into my card.

I used a fairly new prouct from Catherine Pooler designs for the background piece. It's called the Holly and Berries Coverplate and it's gorgeous! I ran some metallic paper through the big shot with the Tin Time Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up - it's gorgeous! And then I die cut the ornament from it. Next I layered it all onto a card panel adding a piece of craft foam between the Holly and Berries and the next layer.
I finished it off with a sentiment stamped in black ink.
It's really a very simple card - it may look like it took a lot of work but the dies did all the hard work for me.

Heart and Home

This is a really quick and easy card to make and would be perfect for mass producing.
You could do it assembly style and be done in no time at all.

I started by die cutting out the scene using the Hometown Greetings Edgelits dies from Stampin' Up onto a piece of white card stock that was bigger than the die I'm using in the next step. Then I used the Stitched Stackable Rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn and cut out a piece of Pool Party card stock and using the same die I cut down the scene piece to fit onto the bottom of the blue piece. (I hope that's clear - if not please ask me and I'll try to explain it better).
I stamped the sentiment and then adhered the scene piece with craft foam to the the blue piece. I adhered that directly to a grey piece of cardstock and then directly to the card base.

Like I said, really easy.

Sweet Treats at TCC

It's time for something sweet at The Card Concept.

I was really inspired by the cupcakes in the inspiration photo and the watercolor look they have. None of my stamp sets were screaming out to me to be used so I pulled out my watercolor markers and just started coloring.

I used a stitched stackable rectangle die from Lawn Fawn to cut the panel down. This is definitely the most used die in my craft room. I use it on almost all of my cards as I love how it finishes off a card.
Next I grabbed some papers that were leftover from another project and were still sitting on my desk which made it easy for me :) A little bit of twine and a simple sentiment stamped in black finished this one off.

Now it's your turn.
Check out what the rest of the DT has created HERE and then have some fun with your card. I'm really curious to see everyone's cards in the gallery for this challenge.

December Canvo

I am loving my new CP Designs Canvo - the paper is perfect for coloring.
I was working on my layout for December and am in the process of filling it out.
I thought I'd take a pic and share it with you before I add the personal stuff.

I like to do a whole month spread and then follow it up with weekly ones with my to-do lists.  Sometimes my weeks will have the same layout and then sometimes they vary. It really depends on what I feel like and if I have a lot going on or not. I'll share those with you in another post as I'm just setting them up now.

I tend to keep my months to one page instead of two. I make quick notes on the month spread and add more detailed info to the weekly spread.
And of course I need to add some stamping and coloring and since Christmas is coming I chose to add some caroling penguins. I colored them in with my Prismacolor pencils - worked beautifully. I stamped some Christmas trees on the bottom. I added some shading on the boxes and on the base of the trees using a Copic marker - just so you know - they do bleed through the paper. I was using a light grey so it was very faint on the other side and doesn't bother me.

Here's a close up pic that shows the bleed through -

I'm curious. How do you all stay organized? Do you use a planner or bullet journal? Or perhaps you keep everything on your phone in an on-line organizer. Whichever way works for you, do you have any suggestions, tips or tricks that you swear by?
