HEY PUMPKIN

I have been waiting patiently (that's questionable lol) for these pumpkins to arrive in the mail. I feel bad complaining about the mail taking so long (about 7 weeks) to arrive when there are so many other things going on that are more important but I know all you stampers out there will feel my pain ;)

So yesterday was the day! I pulled out the Bushels of Love stamps and dies, the Peeking Pets stamps and dies and along with the Hey Pumpkin set I had some FUN!!

You can see by the pic above that I used a lot of ink colors. I started by die cutting out all the images I used and more from white card stock and then stamping on to the cut outs. You can stamp first if you like but when I know I'm using a LOT of images on one card I like to position the die cut pieces around and get an idea of the final card and then stamp on the ones I'll be using.

Some of the pieces don't have the best coverage but that was user error. I decided I liked the basket like that - it made it look old.
It's almost October and it's officially FALL - My favorite time of the year! The colors of the leaves, the weather, sweaters and pumpkins!

CAS-UAL FRIDAYS & CATHERINE POOLER DESIGNS HOP

CAS-ual Fridays and Catherine Pooler Designs have teamed up to bring you a fun hop. And like with most hops there are prizes. Both CAS-ual Fridays and Catherine Pooler Designs are giving away a $30 GIFT CERTIFICATE to their stores. Leave a comment at all the stops to increase your chances of winning. Winners will be posted on Sept. 29th on both Catherine's blog and the CAS-ual Fridays blog.

You should have arrived from Shonna Chambers blog but if not I have links to everyone below.

I've got two cards to share with you today.

My first card features the Jacks Stencil and the Happy Birthday Stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays and ink from Catherine Pooler.

I didn't have any blending brushes with me when I made these cards but I did have sponge daubers so I used those to add a rainbow of color to my stenciled background. Next I simply stamped the big Happy Birthday with Midnight ink and then added a few enamel dots. I did some direct to paper with Midnight ink to create a black card base and then added the panel.

I stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card and then strategically sponged on a few of the jacks from the stencil.

For my second card I figured out where I wanted my stamping to be then masked that off leaving the border on the right to add some color with the Jack stencil.

After removing the mask I used a black marker to add the line to the left of the stenciling. Without the line it looked unfinished.

I stamped the images and sentiments on the left and left it uncolored so as not to compete with the stenciling.

The Happy Birthday Stamp Set from CAS-ual Fridays is a fun one to have in your stash. The big bold sentiment is great and can be combined with any small birthday sentiment you have but the ones in this set are sure to make you and the recipient giggle.

Time to HOP!!
Next up is the very talented Michelle Wallace. She makes beautiful cards!
Remember to leave a comment at every stop because you don't want to miss out on a chance for one of the $30 GIFT CERTIFICATES I mentioned above.

Susan Powell - that's me

SLIMLINE PEACE & JOY

I arrived home the other day to some 'happy mail'. And you all know what I mean when I say that - STAMPING GOODIES! One of the goodies was the Doodle Window Slimline Die. This thing is so cool! It has the three different size circles which that in itself is super cool but then there's these different doodles around each circle! Unfortunately they don't show up on the card in the pic very well but you can see them on the die.

I attached the Peace & Joy die cut to the bottom circle and then added a window sheet behind that and the circle above. I put some adhesive strips around those two circles and then filled them with some Mistletoe Sequins. I covered those both with some scrap white paper to hold the sequins in place while I worked on the rest of the card.
I added the patterned paper from the All Wrapped Up Paper pack to the top circle and then added craft foam to the rest of the back of the panel and then added that to the card base. The card base is 7 x 8 1/2" and scored at 3 1/2" on the 7" side. The panel is 3 1/4 x 8 1/4".
Next I stamped some images from the Tis The Season Stamp Set (one of my all time fave sets), cut them out with the coordinating dies and adhered them to the panel. I stamped a few groupings of red berries directly to the panel.
I love how this card turned out and thanks to the Doodle Window Slimline Die it was really easy to make.

YOU ARE ADORED

Hi Friends!
My card today features a stamp set from the July 2019 Club Sursee from Catherine Pooler Designs. It's not available for purchase but it's got one of my favorite sentiments to send to someone. I mean seriously, who doesn't want to hear that they are adored?

The sentiment you see on the stamp set in the pic is another one of my favorites. You can see it on a card I made here.
I die cut a panel using the large stitched rectangle rom the Postage Stamp Die set - it's one of my most used dies - and then stamped the sentiment. I stamped that first and then stamped the flowers around it. Stamping the sentiment first ensures that I don't run out of room for it later.

I stamped a little red heart, a few black dots and then layered it onto a grey card base with some craft foam and this card is done.

PEACE & JOY WITH CATHERINE POOLER DESIGNS

Hi Everyone!
I'm back with another card for you today using products from the Jolly Holiday Release from Catherine Pooler Designs.

It's another quick and easy one. I used the hats from the Nice List Stamp set and colored them in using a blender pen. The coloring's not as good as I would've liked as I noticed while making this card I'm in need of a new pen but I'm camping right now and that's what I had.

I cut apart the peace & joy and after doing direct to paper with Samba ink and adhered it to the panel with some liquid glue.
This would be cute done in some bright fun colors.
What colors would you choose?

Hi Everyone!

I made a fun wreath card to share with you today. It uses the candy from the Sweetest Season Stamps & Dies

I started by die-cutting a lot of the images out and then stamping them in a variety of colors. I had way too many for this card but that's okay because now I have some for another card.

I traced a circle lightly with a pencil onto my card and then adhered the images. I stamped the sentiment below and this one is done.

JOLLY HOLIDAY IS IN THE SHOP NOW!!!

TODAY'S THE DAY!!

The Jolly Holiday Release is in the shop!

I've kept most of my cards with this release pretty clean and simple. For me if I have to make a lot I want them to be easy. I will make the exception for a few but generally it's clean and simple for me.

My card today uses two stamp sets. The Nice List Stamp Set I used for the border. I combined two of the little stamps and did some repeat stamping along the edge.

The main image is from the Nice List Stamp Set. I think those images are so cute and fun to play with. I stamped them in Midnight and colored them in with a blender pen using Rouge and Garden Party inks. I used a little Twilight ink to add some shading to the white areas of the hat unfortunately my pen wasn't too clean and there's a bit of red in it but that's okay.

I think I'll make a few more of these using some non-traditional colors.

JOLLY HOLIDAY PEACE & JOY DIE

My card for you today features the Peace & Joy Die from the Catherine Pooler Designs Jolly Holiday Release that hits the shop tomorrow - Sept. 16th or today if you're a StampNation member.

I  made the background using sponge daubers and CP's inks and leaving circles all over the panel. I added the stars from the Sweetest Season Stamp Set with some Twilight ink. It was super quick and easy to make and would be great for mass producing.

I used the Urban Graphite Nuvo Glitter Marker to cover the Peace & Joy and then added it to the panel with craft foam. I love the little bit of sparkle it adds.

FIND YOUR HAPPY

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all doing well and if you have kids I hope you’re surviving as best you can whatever ‘back to school‘ looks like for you.
I am writing this post on my phone while my hubby and I are camping and it’s acting all ‘glitchy’ (or maybe it’s me lol) I’m not able to preview this so I hope this looks okay for you all to read.
It’s been really hot ( as high as 37C in some places) but some of the places we hiked up to you could see that Fall is wanting to start. I love Fall so I’m okay with that but my hubby would prefer a longer summer. Okay, enough about us let’s talk about my card.
I love this sentiment, I love Fall and Fall colors and I love grey and white so this card came together really easy.

I started by stamping a bunch of leaves. I would ink it up in the lighter shade and then using a sponge dauber I would a darker shade around the edges and then stamp. I cut out all the ones I liked with the coordinating dies. I stamped one directly onto the card base and then adhered all the others with some Bearly Arts Glue. Next I stamped the sentiment. I was going to stamp a border underneath it all when I spotted an old unused piece that didn’t make it onto another card. It’s made with the Friendship Border Die and some paper-piecing of grey card stock into the little holes. I adhered that to the card and added a little ladybug from the same set and called it done.

LIVE, LOVE, LAVINIA WITH SCRAP'N STAMP CANADA

Hi Everyone and welcome to this months hop with Scrap'n Stamp. This month we're featuring Lavinia Stamps.

It's my first time playing with them and I gotta say it won't be my last. I think I made about 10 cards.

I used the Zen Leaf 2 stamp for this first card. I stamped it 3x onto watercolor card stock and did some ink smooshing. I cut it to the size of the front of the card and then stamped the sentiment. I distressed the edges and then added it to a card base.

I used the Zen Butterfly stamp on my second card and kept it really simple.

I stamped the image then using 4 shades of blue copic markers I filled in the background. I die cut the panel with a rectangle from the Lawn fawn Stitched Rectangle dies and then stamped the sentiment. I added it to a white card base with some craft foam.

My last card today uses the Tree Scene stamps.

I started by creating the background. I cut a piece of masking paper to have a curvy edge and then sponged on the sky and grass. I ran it and a piece of MFT Black & White Striped paper through my die-cutting machine using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle dies. I stamped the trees doing some first, second and third generation stamping and then added the sentiment. I layered everything onto black card stock and then added that to a white card base.

I have so many more ideas for the stamps that I have and I can't wait to see what the rest of the team has created with their Lavinia stamps.

I'm last on the hop today but if you missed anyone I've linked to everyone below.
