HELLO SWEET FRIEND!

Hello Sweet Friends!

I'm back today with another card using Catherine Pooler's new Date Night Inks. These colors are so fun to play with and I seriously can't pick a favorite. I'm generally not drawn to pinks, purples and yellows but I love the shades in this collection.

Ever since I was little I have loved coloring. I'm sure I'll be in my 80's and still coloring. It's very relaxing and it's fun too.
For this card I grabbed all 8 of the new Date Night Ink colors, a blender pen and the Fluttering Friends Stamp Set and had some fun.

I kept the coloring really simple starting with a light layer of ink then building it up for depth. I also used Drive In for depth with Serenade, Catching Rays for depth with Chiffon and Pucker Up for depth with Do-Si-Do.
You may notice that there's some smudges of purple and yellow. I need to learn to check my hands while I'm working but I'm still going to send this card out because after all it's handmade and I'm sure the person I'm sending it to won't mind.

I embossed part of the sentiment on black with white embossing powder and stamped the other one directly on the card panel. I added it to a white card base with some craft foam to finish it off.

I want to remind you about a GIVEAWAY.
Catherine Pooler is giving away eight $25 Gift Certificates over on Instagram - one for each of the new ink colors. Click HERE to find me on Instagram and enter for a chance to win.

HEY THERE DUMPLING & A GIVEAWAY

The Hey There Dumpling Stamp and coordinating Die set is sooooo cute!! It's the perfect set to have in your stash to make cards and gifts for the sushi fans in your life. I paired it with the new I Love You Soy Patterned Paper which is perfect to use with the Hey There Dumpling stamps.
I die cut the images and then inked them up with some of the new Date Night Inks - which by the way Catherine is doing a giveaway to celebrate the release of the new inks. More Details on that below.
I cut them out with the coordinating dies and then layered them on to a heart die cut from some of that cute patterned paper.

The white panel on the card is made from some of the leftover bits of the Circle Squared Slimline Die I used on a card I'll be sharing soon. I adhered them to a white card stock panel then added the pattern paper on either side of it trimming it out with some little strips of card stock that I did direct to paper with Black Jack ink.
A simple sentiment finishes this card off.

Now for the GIVEAWAY.

YOU'VE BEEN ON MY HEART & AN INSTAGRAM GIVEAWAY

Hi Friends! My card today is super simple. I couldn't decide on which of the new Catherine Pooler Design ink colors to use so I used them all. They're gorgeous. Check them out HERE

I cut a piece of white card stock to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2". I wanted a one layer card but I didn't trust myself to not get ink on the back of the card - I'm not the neatest when I craft.  I used Pixie Spray to adhere the new Scribbled Hearts Stencil to the panel.

I used Catherine Poolers new Blending Brushes cover the panel blending ink in rainbow order. To finish the card I embossed a simple sentiment from the Thoughful Phrases Stamp Set with white embossing powder on black card stock and aded it with craft foam for a little dimension.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BALLOONS

Balloons and streamers always mean a party and who doesn't love a party on their birthday. Unfortunately with the way the world is right now parties are not an option. At least not parties in person. You can still party on Zoom which is where I was when I made this card. Some of you may have even been there too. It was a Zoom party on New Years Eve celebrating StampNation turning 10 this year. It was a lot of fun.

I started this card with the Round Balloon Stencil, some inks and some sponge daubers. I sponged the ink on for each balloon leaving a little lighter spot for the highlight. I used just one color on each balloon but by leaving a lighter spot and keeping it dark around the edges you can create some dimension.
Next I cut the panel to the size I wanted using the large stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Dies then drew on some balloon strings. I stamped the sentiment from Happy Birthday Many Ways with Midnight ink and then decided it needed something else.
I inked up the streamer image stamp from the Party Like It's stamp set using all three ink colors and stamped them at the top.
I used the Rocks Ann Background Stamp to create the bottom panel. I added all three ink colors to the stamp and then after stamping it I used the ink colors again to sponge the edges.

This was a quick and easy card to make. You could have a lot of fun using different color combinations for these balloons.

MORE CANDLES THAN CAKE

What do you do when you have more candles than cake?

You pile them on to all the layers.

I started this card by stamping the Dotted Bursts Background stamp onto white card stock with WOW embossing ink and heat set it with WOW white embossing powder. I blended on some Tiki Torch and Samba inks and then die cut the cake pieces with the Birthday Cake Remix Dies. I cut a piece of icing from the same background piece and blended on some Lime Rickey ink.
I cut a piece of Black Tie Gala paper, layered it onto a white piece of card stock then adhered that to a white card base. I added the cake pieces with craft foam for dimension.
Next I stamped the candles using the same inks and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I adhered some directly to the panel and some with craft foam.
One little cherry and an embossed sentiment finish this card.

I love how this cake turned out -  the heat embossed background stamp gives the cake an element of fun. I think I'll try out a few other background stamps and colors.

HOPE YOUR DAY IS AWESOME!

Some days are better than others but some days you need a reminder. The rainbow image in the Classy Times Stamp Set is perfect for that. I paired it with a sentiment from the Awesome & Wonderful Stamp set and did a little coloring using some of the new Date Night Inks.

I started with a panel of white card stock and stamped the rainbow with Midnight ink. I used a blender pen and colored it in using Serenade, Pucker Up, In the Park and Cummerbund inks.
Next I stamped the sentiments with Midnight ink and then noticed that the rainbow was crooked. To fix it I stamped the lines using a stamp from the Classy Times Stamp Set.
I added the panel to a white card base with some craft foam and now it's time to get this card in the mail.

FIND HAPPINESS IN TODAY...

...because today is release day for Catherine Pooler Designs new Date Night inks and

the Love-N-Hearts Collection

All of the new products will be in the shop today at 9am EST. Be sure to check the sales items too because there are a lot of love themed products on sale - some as much as 60% off!

I used 4 of the new Date Night Inks on my card today -

In The Park, Cummerbund, Pucker Up and Drive-in.

Here are all of the 8 new colors. They are so pretty!!

I stamped the main image from the Through The Prism stamp set using my MISTI onto some water color card stock. I used the MISTI so I could stamp it a couple of times to be sure to get good coverage. Next I heat set it with some WOW White Embossing Powder and then had some fun with one of my all time favorite techniques - ink smooshing. I started by smooshing the ink pad onto a large block, adding a little water then pouncing the paper into the ink. I dried it with my heat gun and then repeated the process with the next ink color.

After it was all dry I repeated the process but this time I used the re-inkers instead of the ink pad. I squeezed a couple of drops onto a large block, added a couple sprays of water and then pounced the paper into the ink puddle. This really made the colors more vibrant.
By doing it with the ink pad and the re-inkers I was able to achieve a two tone look of each color.

To finish the card I layered it onto some black card stock leaving the tiniest of borders. I cut a strip of the striped paper from the Black Tie Gala Patterned Paper and added it to the left side of the card base then added the inked panel.

For the sentiment I did another of my favorites - heat embossing with white onto black card stock - it's a simple technique but it definitely packs a punch.

Now to write in this card and get it in the mail. One of my goals this year is to send out more 'just because' cards to friends and family. The world is so crazy right now and who knows when we'll be able to visit with loved ones again so why not send them something to let them know you are thinking of them. And a handmade card is perfect for that.

LOVE YA!!

I'm pretty sure you've all seen the new inks by Catherine Pooler Designs by now and if you're like me you think they look gorgeous. Well that's because they are! Not only are the colors really pretty the names are super cute too!

These will be in the shop tomorrow (Jan, 16th) for the general public BUT if you are a StampNation member then you get to order today at noon EST.

Not only is there new inks available, there's the Love-N-Hearts Collection being released as well. With all that's going on in the world right now who couldn't use a pick me-up-card telling them they are loved.
This collection is perfect for that.

Check out this adorable card by Brand Ambassador Illina Crouse using products from the I Love You Soy Bundle. It's so cute!! I can't wait to play with these products.

While I'm waiting for goodies I pulled out some love themed goodies and grabbed the new inks and made a very simple card and I know exactly who I'm sending it to. Considering how easy it was to make I think I'll make a few more.

I started by doing some direct to paper with each of the ink colors. I couldn't decide on which ones to use so I decided to use them all.

Next I used the second smallest heart die from the Nested Stitched Heart Dies and cut one out from each color. I cut a panel using the large rectangle from the Postage Stamp Dies and then adhered the hearts leaving a spot in the middle to add a small sentiment. I chose to use one from the Doodle Hearts Stamp Set that fit perfectly so I stamped that in Midnight ink. I added the panel to a white card base with some craft foam and this card is done.

While you're shopping be sure to check out the sale section because there are a lot of love related products on sale - some are 60% off!!

DATE NIGHT INK COLLECTION

Hi Friends! Welcome back to my blog. I've got another card to share with you today using the other 4 inks from the new Date Night Ink Collection. Yesterday I used the Do-Si-Do, Catching Rays, In the Park and Cumberbund on this card. Today I used the Chiffon, Pucker Up, Serenade and Drive-in inks.
These inks along with the Love-N-Hearts Collection will be in the shop on Wednesday, January 13th at 9am EST - BUT if you're a StampNation member then you can order on Tuesday, January 12th at Noon EST

Check out these new blending brushes that will be in the shop on Wednesday!

I started with some ink blending on a white piece of card stock cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2". I wanted a one layer card but I don't like blending on the whole front of a card as I always, always, always get ink on some other part of the card.
I started with Chiffon, then Pucker Up, next was Serenade and then to finish it off was Drive-in.

Next I stamped the floral image and the sentiment from the Beautiful Day Floral Stamp Set using my MISTI and Midnight ink. I stamped it a few times to get a nice deep dark black image.

To finish the card I added it to a card base and then using the POSCA white paint pen I filled in some of the leaves, the inside of the flowers and added a few dots.

This was a quick card to make and would look great done in all kinds of color combos.
What color combo would you do? Leave me a comment - I'd love to know.

HELLO NEW INK!!

Hi Friends! I hope you're having a good day. I wanted to let you know that Catherine Pooler Designs has some new goodies hitting the shop on Wednesday January 13th at 9am EST
If you're a StampNation member then you get to order on Tuesday January 12th!
One of the new goodies is NEW INK!!! The ink bundle is called Date Night and I'm so excited about this because she really does make one of the best inks on the market.
She also has a mini release called Love-N-Hearts that's perfect for Valentine's Day next month. I don't have anything to show made with the Love-N-Hearts products since those are still making their way to me in the mail BUT I do have the inks!

Just look at all this gorgeousness! And check out the names - so cute and fun.

I used the Faitfhful Fluttering Butterflies because I wanted to layer up the inks and the butterflies each have 3 layers to their wings.

I used the new Cumberbund, In the Park, Catching Rays, Do-Si-Do on this slimline card. The yellow butterfly is stamped with Catching Rays, Tiara, Tiki Torch and Tutti Frutti for the body. The pink butterfly is stamped with Do-Si-Do, Coral Cabana, Samba and Cranberry Fizz for the body. The blue butterfly is stamped with Cumberbund, Mint to Be, Aquatini and Deck the Halls for the body.
The ink blending inside the circle openings is done with In the Park ink.
I love how they turned out.

I used the Post This Slimline Die set to make all the layers for the card. This is a great set to have in your stash because besides using them all together they would also work great individually which makes it more versatile.

I adhered a sheet of acetate to the back of the piece with the cut out circles. Next I added some craft foam being sure to add it between each circle so when I added the Soda Springs sequins they wouldn't all fall to the bottom of the card. I used the Marching Leaves Stencil and some In The Park ink to add a subtle background and then layered it all together.
The hello is from the Ways To say Hey Dies and cut from black card stock. A few more sequins on top and this card is done.

I'll be back with another card using the other inks tomorrow.

*** Please note: I've linked below to all the products I've used and some of the new products too. The new ones are listed first but won't be live until the dates mentioned above***
