SENDING WARM WISHES WITH CATHERINE POOLER DESIGNS

Hi Everyone. Happy Friday!!
Today's card is about keeping it simple.
You don't need a lot of supplies to make a card.
I used one stamp set and two die sets to make this quick and easy card.

I started by blending Lemongrass, Shea Butter and Sauna inks onto a panel of white card stock using a blending brush. Next I used the Sunburst Strip Cover Plate Die to cut the inked panel. I held the rays together with scotch tape on the back then cut that panel down with the large stitched rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Die Set.

I used the MISTI to stamp 'wishes' from the All Around Wishes Stamp Set using Midnight ink. I stamped it 3x to get solid coverage over the sunburst seems then used a fine tip black marker to fill in the seems where the ink didn't reach.
I finished the sentiment off with some white embossing on black card stock - simple but packs a punch - then added the panel to a white card base using craft foam.

Happy Stampin'

and thanks SO MUCH for visiting!

Stay safe everyone!!

A YELLOW AND GREY ONE LAYER CARD

I was making this card for a Color Hues Challenge but I'm a little late getting it ready. I still wanted to share it with you because I had fun making it. The challenge was to make a card using yellow and grey - I love those two colors together and I don't use them enough so I thought it would be a fun challenge. Plus I decided to make a one layer card as I find them more difficult to do and want to do more so I can get better at them.

I also made a video to go along with this post. First one in 7 months! I finally got a much needed new laptop and have spent the last few days learning some new programs for filming, editing and doing voice overs. I still need to figure some things out - for instance I couldn't get music to play where I wanted it to. Maybe in my next video I'll have it figured out.

My struggle with one layer cards is adding depth to them. I know that's not always necessary but I love to use craft foam on my cards for dimension and would love to be able to create dimension on OLC's too. I love the clean and simple look but sometimes I want a little more. I love how this card turned out but I do think there's room for improvement.

You can watch the video below to see how I made it or you can watch it over on my YouTube channel.

CATHERINE POOLER DESIGNS APRIL SHOWERS

We've had such beautiful weather here lately but we're supposed to get rain this afternoon so I thought this card was perfect to share with you today. I've been taking advantage of the beautiful weather and getting some hiking in and haven't been spending much time in my craft room or blogging. I've also been learning a new filming and editing system so I can start making videos again. I've got one to share with you soon and then I hope am going to be more consistent with them.

Alright, lets talk about this card.

I am in love with this bear from the Puddle Play stamp set - that tiny umbrella he's carrying makes me giggle.

I colored him in using a blender pen and cut him out with the coordinating die.  I die cut a few clouds, added them to a white piece of card stock then cut it with the large stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Die Set. Before adhering the clouds I did stamp some rain. I layered the panel onto another piece of white card stock that I blended on some ink for a blue background and then layered that onto a white card base. The bear is popped up with some craft foam and of course I had to add a puddle. I stamped the sentiment then cut it up, layered it onto some black card stock and placed it around the panel.

I love this sentiment and right now I need to remember that.
There's always something to be thankful for.

HOPPY BIRTHDAY WITH CATHERINE POOLER DESIGNS

Happy Saturday Everyone! Or should I say Hoppy Saturday ;)

I combined some products from the April Showers Brings... Release with products from last months Spring Garden Release. They work beautifully together.

I started with the Sunburst Cover Plate Die and blended on some sunny ink colors. I cut that out with the large stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Die Set then added that to a white card base with some craft foam.

I layered on two clouds cut from the April Showers Die set, then a few fun colored mushrooms from the Spring Into Easter Stamp Set. The bunny and flowers are from the same set. I cut them all out with the coordinating dies then used an exacto knife to cut a slit into the bunny's paws to tuck the flowers into it and added the bunny with some more craft foam.
The sentiment is from the Spring Borders Stamp Set and added with more craft foam to finish this card.

Have a great weekend!!

APRIL SHOWERS BRINGS...RELEASE DAY!!!

That's TODAY!!!
At 9am EST you can shop for all the goodies in the new April Showers Bring... Release from Catherine Pooler Designs.

I've LOVED playing with the April Showers Bundle so much that I felt like I was on cloud 9 so I made a cloud 9 card. Makes sense to me.

This was soooo easy to make. I started by blending the Sauna and Shea Butter inks onto a piece of white card stock. Next I ran it through my die cutting machine first with the Sunburst Strips Cover Plate Die then with the large stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Dies.
The Postage Stamp Dies has seriously got to be my most used CP die - I highly recommend it.
I added this to a white card base with craft foam.

Next I die cut a few clouds from the April Showers Dies and adhered them to the Sunburst panel. I stamped the 9 from the Milestone Numbers Stamp set with Midnight ink and then die cut it with the coordinating die and I also die cut it from craft foam too. I adhered the two 9's together then adhered it to the card and this card is done!

Seriously easy to make!

EARLY ORDERING FOR STAMPNATION AND A SHAKER CARD

Today's the day that StampNation members can shop the new April Showers Bring... Release from Catherine Pooler Designs. You lucky peeps can start shopping at noon EST. Shopping opens for the general public tomorrow, April 14th at 9am EST.

Don't want to wait until tomorrow? Click HERE to learn about becoming a StampNation member. It's an incredible community of crafters.

I've been playing with the April Showers Bundle which includes the following:

- Puddle Play Stamp Set
- Puddle Play Dies
-April Showers Stamp Set
- April Showers Dies

I shared this card the other day HERE and said I would share soon what I did with the piece I cut the clouds from.

I made it into a shaker card!
I added a piece of acetate to the back and a bunch of craft foam around the clouds and the edges of the panel to make pockets for the sequins.

I blended the same colors of ink that I used for the sentiment onto another piece of white card stock to place behind the shaker openings but first I poured in some sequins. After adhering that together I layered it onto a piece of black card stock that I cut just the tiniest bit bigger to give it a frame and then adhered it to a white card base.

I used the MISTI to stamp the bear, then colored him in using a blender pen and some more of Catherine's great inks. Before I cut him out with the coordinating die I put him back into my MISTI to re-stamp it so that the lines would be nice and crisp after coloring. I adhered him to the card and called it done. But of course I spent a few minutes shaking it and watching the sequins move around.

I'm back with another card featuring products that are part of the upcoming release from Catherine Pooler Designs. It's the April Showers Collection and it will be in the shop on

Wednesday, April 14th at 9am EST for the general public

BUT

My card today is very clean and simple and an easy, super quick one to make too. It's perfect for when you need a card in a hurry and want to send some encouragement.

I used the April Showers Stamp Set and the coordinating April Showers Die Set

I started with a piece of white card stock cut with the large stitched rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Dies and added that to a white card base with some craft foam.

Next I stamped the sentiment - LOVE this font - with midnight ink. I used the April Showers Dies and cut out two clouds then inked them up with Stone Blue ink using stamps from the April Showers Stamp Set.
I adhered one cloud directly to the panel and the other with craft foam.

Told you it was easy and super quick to make ;)

APRIL SHOWERS AT CATHERINE POOLER DESIGNS COMING SOON!

Catherine Pooler Designs has a new release called the April Showers Collection and it will be available on Wednesday April 14th at 9am EST for the general public BUT if you're a StampNation member then one of the many perks is early shopping for releases. This means StampNation members can shop on Tuesday, April 13th at noon EST. Not a member? Click HERE to learn more about it.

I've been playing with the April Showers Bundle and it includes the following:

- Puddle Play Stamp Set
- Puddle Play Dies
-April Showers Stamp Set
- April Showers Dies

I think my favorite thing in this bundle is the sentiment I used on today's card. The message is so true and the font is beautiful and fun at the same time.

I decided to use the On The Rocks Slimline Die with some of the new products. I thought the pieces that I blended ink onto had a raindrop feel to them and would work well with the rainbow cloud from the April Showers Stamp Set.

I used the a blender pen to color in the rainbow cloud and adhered that directly to the card base. I stamped the sentiment also from the April Showers Stamp Set onto a die cut cloud cut from the April Showers Die set and adhered to the card base with some craft foam.
I stamped the cute critter from the Puddle Play Stamp Set and cut it out with the coordinating die then used the blender pen again to add some color before adding him to the card.

SENDING A LITTLE SUNSHINE YOUR WAY

The new April Showers Bring... Release from Catherine Pooler Designs will be in the shop on April 14th at 9am EST for the general public and noon EST for StampNation members. To learn more about becoming a StampNation member please click HERE.

I've got another card to share with you today using all the products from the April Showers Bundle, one from the Extras Bundle and a few more CP goodies.

I started by blending some Sauna and Shea Butter ink onto a piece of white card stock. I cut it first with the Sunburst Strips Cover Plate Die then with the large stitched rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Die Set. I adhered that to a white card base with craft foam.

I die cut a heart from the Nested Hearts Dies then blended on some Polished ink keeping it darker around the edges. I stamped a sentiment from the April Showers Stamp Set in midnight ink and adhered that to the card.
Next I stamped the cloud and the rain drops with Stone Blue ink, cut it out with the coordinating die and adhered that to the card. I was going to stop there then decided to add the little critter that I colored in using a blender pen.

CATHERINE POOLER DESIGNS APRIL SHOWERS COMING SOON

Catherine Pooler Designs is releasing some new products!  It's the April Showers Bring... Collection and will be available on Wednesday April 14th at 9am EST for the general public BUT if you're a StampNation member then one of the many perks is early shopping for releases. This means StampNation members can shop on Tuesday, April 13th at noon EST. Not a member? Click HERE to learn more about it.

There are 4 bundles in this collection - one of which is called the April Showers Bundle. This is the one I've been playing with and having an absolute great time doing so.
I've got a fun card to share with you today and lots more coming soon so stay tuned.

The April Showers Bundle includes the following:
- Puddle Play Stamp Set
- Puddle Play Dies
-April Showers Stamp Set
- April Showers Dies

I used 3 of the 4 items plus the Sunburst Strips Cover Plate Die which can be found in the Extras Bundle. Don't forget that any and all of the items can be purchased individually but you do save a little if you purchase a bundle.

Okay, now for the card.
I started by stamping the sentiment repeatedly, filling a panel in a variety of colors then cutting out the clouds using the April Showers Dies. I saved the panel for a card I'll share another day.

Next I used the Sunburst Strips Cover Plate Die. This is a larger die which allows you some options for cutting it down for some different looks. I used the large stitched rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Die set to cut it down. I think this will be a great die for scrapbooking too.

I did some ink blending on another piece of white card stock to create the blue layer. I stamped the puddle in the middle of this panel then cut it out with the coordinating die before adhering the panel to the card base.  Next I added the sunburst piece with some craft foam.
I stamped the bear and cut him out with the coordinating die. I colored in the image using a blender pen and a few ink colors.
I added the clouds and the puddle directly to the sunburst layer then added the bear with some more craft foam.

I love how this card has the sentiment in the clouds and not in a traditional way.

HELLO

I made this card for a Pen Pal swap at StampNation. Each month there's an inspiration picture to inspire us and if you sign up you're sent a name of someone to send a card to.
I decided to make a slim line cityscape card. I die cut a lot of the houses and churches and set about adding color to each one.
I added washi tape to the bottom and then ahdered the buildings using Bearly liquid glue.
For the sentiment I used the hello from the Ways to Say Hey Dies and cut it from black card stock. I cut each letter apart then adhered them to the washi tape.

I'm playing along with the Stripes Challenge at Just Us Girls.

Simple Tips For Texture

Hi Everyone! I'm over on the Scrap'n Stamp blog today sharing some simple tips for adding texture to your cards.

My first card uses texture paste, a palette knife, some bakers twine and some patterned paper.

My second card is the easiest way to add texture to a card. I used an embossing folder and cut the panel into 1" squares before adding it to a card using craft foam for dimension.

My last card uses another embossing folder but this time I blended on ink to enhance the raised parts.

There are so many ways to add texture to your cards. The ones I shared today are just a few and are very quick and easy to do.

Some of the products I used were older and not available any more but I did link to some alternatives below.

Be sure to check out the Scrap'n Stamp Facebook page for more inspiration and please, share your cards with us too.
