A COLORFUL MESSAGE

I've had this idea in my head all week for this card but unfortunately I never made it into my craft room until yesterday afternoon. We recently bought a small townhouse and are completely renovating it which means lots of planning, shopping and driving back and forth between the new place and where we currently live to do the renos.  Plus I'm getting sick (uggh) I'm not complaining - I just wanted to let you know why I've been absent from blogging for a week.

I chose these colors from a color challenge over on StampNation that I've been wanting to play in for a while.
There are 10 stamps in the Magnetic Messages and I used 9 of them on this card. I started in the top left corner and then worked my way across the panel and down just like you would read a page in a book repeating the colors. I adhered the panel to the card base with craft foam.
I cut the Thanks die from white card stock and craft foam and layered them together and then adhered it on to the stamped panel.

I think this would look good in neutral colors too for a more masculine card.

SCRAP'N STAMP GALENTINE'S BLOG HOP

It's the first Friday of the month - do you know what that means?
It means the team at Scrap'n Stamp has another super fun hop for you!
This month the theme is Friendships and with Valentine's Day coming we decided to have a Galentine's Hop.
First things first.
There's a $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE that is going to be given away to a lucky person who leaves a comment. You increase your chances if you leave a comment at every stop on the hop.

Okay, now for my card.

I used the Sip Happens stamp set from Picket Fence Studios. I love the sentiments it has. I decided to keep the coloring on the card really simple so the red would pop more off the paper. I stamped the image in black ink onto a white panel cut to 4 1/4" x 3 1/2" and then colored the lips, nails, wine and the shirt in red Prismacolor pencils (#'s 924 and 937). The hearts and little dots are from a die that I don't think is available anymore - sorry. If you don't have a heart die or punch you could easily draw little hearts and color them in - don't worry if they're not perfect as the fact that they weren't all symmetrical would look cool.

I tore one edge of a strip of paper from My Favorite Things Black & White Stripes paper pack and added it to the panel. I layered it onto the same red card stock that I cut the hearts from. I added a strip of black card stock to the card base and then added the stamped panel.
The sentiment under the lady is from the Sip Happens stamp set.

I used my label maker to print out the Happy Galentine's Day. I layered it onto some black card stock and then added it to the card with craft foam.

As I mentioned above, one lucky person will win a $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE to the Scrap'n Stamp Store. So be sure to leave a comment at every stop on the hop as this will increase your chances of winning.

Let's Hop!!

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY

This card may look like there was a lot to do to make it but that's not the case. The background is made with a stencil called Off The Loom and blending on some Melon Ice and Aquatini inks onto a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock.

I die cut the thin happy from the Happy X Three Dies from Midnight card stock and adhered them to the inked panel. I tore the edge off the left side and layered it onto a strip of paper from the Black Tie Gala Patterned Paper Pack and then layered that onto a piece of Midnight card stock cut slightly bigger than the panel. I adhered that to a white card base.

The sentiment is embossed with white onto midnight card stock and adhered to the card with craft foam.

I added a few sequins from the Big Sur Sequin Mix and this card is finished.

This card would look good made with all different color combos.
What color combo would you choose?
Leave me a comment I'd love to know.

A VEGGIE VALENTINE

Whoever said veggies don't belong on a Valentine's card never saw the Veggies Please Stamp Set from Catherine Pooler Designs latest release. The release is called In The Kitchen and it is filled with cuteness! Click HERE to see all the products in the release.

I used the Doodle Hearts Stamp Set to create the background by stamping one of the sentiments all over the front of the card base with Midnight ink. I used a blender pen and some Peppermint Scrub ink to color in all the hearts. This is a great way to get more use from your stamps and to create your own paper.
I tore the edges on a striped piece of patterned paper from the Black Tie Gala patterned paper pack, adhered it to a strip of Midnight card stock and then adhered that to the card base.
I stamped the main image and sentiment onto a panel that I cut using the Stitched Squares Dies which is also part of the In The Kitchen Release, layered it onto some Midnight card stock and then adhered it to the card base with craft foam.

This was an easy card to make and fun too.

WONDERFUL INSIDE AND OUT

I've got a bit of an interactive card using products from Catherine Pooler Designs' latest release called In The Kitchen.

I used the Stitched Squares Dies and the Picture Frame Dies to create a flap with the first part of the sentiment. The flap opens up to reveal another plant, some more patterned paper and the rest of the sentiment.
I cut the flap by layering the top cutting plate from my die cutting machine on top of three sides of the die - leaving one edge uncovered. This cuts three sides and allows me to hand cut the fourth side longer and tuck it under the floral frame.

I blended Icing on the Cake ink over the Off the Loom Stencil onto some Chocolate card stock. I love the tone on tone.

This was fun to make and would be fun to do with different shaped dies.

If you ordered products from the In The Kitchen release, leave me a message what you ordered and what your favorite product is. I'd love to hear.
