THANKFUL

With all the turmoil in the world right now I've been doing a lot of thinking. I am filled with sadness for the people of Ukraine and for the unwilling people of Russia.

I have been thinking about all that I have to be thankful for in my life.

My card today is simple. I cut a panel using the large stitched rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Die Set. I used Aquatini ink and a blending brush to add a little color using the Square Dance Stencil. Next I removed the stencil and blended on a little Minted ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the Bushels of Love Stamp Set using my mini MISTI and Midnight ink. It wasn't really necessary to use the MISTI as I got a good impression the first time but I wanted to be sure. I adhered the panel to a white card base then stamped the flower from the Origami Cheers Stamp Set.
I colored it with Minted, Aquatini and Uptown inks using a blender pen. I cut it and a piece of craft foam with the coordinating die and adhered them together with some Bearly Arts Glue and then adhered that to the card.

Please take the time to hug your loved ones and if you can't hug them physically, hug them with words.

I'm playing along with the following challenges:

CLEAN AND SIMPLE WITH NEWTON'S NOOK DESIGNS

When I saw this stamp set I knew I HAD to have it. My husband loves tractors and the Farming Fun Stamp Set from Newton's Nook has a tractor and so much more. I purchased the stamp from Artful Angel and at the time of this post it's on sale. (I don't earn a commission - I just really like their shop).

I stamped all the cards in the same way.
I used Nocturne ink and my Mini MISTI leaving the stamp in the MISTI so I could stamp it again after coloring. I do this all the time as it helps bring the black lines back in focus.
I stamped the sentiments also using my MISTI so I could stamp them a few times to get a deep, dark impression.

For the tractor card I used the largest die from Lawn Fawns Small Stitched 4 Bar Rectangle Die Set and Tombow markers 192, 158, N15, N49 and N95. I used a fine tip black marker to attach the trailer to the tractor.

Next up I have what I always called the 'Scooper truck' lol. I think it's called a Loader or a Backhoe (insert shrug here)

I decided to color this one yellow and used Tombow markers 055, 062, N95 and N15. I first cut the panel using the second largest die in the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched 4 Bar Rectangles Die Set

I LOVE old trucks - I always wanted to own one but I'll settle for this cute stamp.

For this card I used Tombow markers 847, 856, N49, N95 and N15. I cut the panel with the second largest die in the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched 4 Bar Rectangle Die Set.

I adhered all the panels directly to a white card base. I'm really liking the flat cards for mailing - I'm not sure if it's just Canada but the prices for mailing cards are getting crazy!

SENDING LOVE WITH CATHERINE POOLER DESIGNS

Hi Everyone!

My card for you today uses one of my all time favorite techniques. Ink Smooshing. I love how easy it is, how it's different every time I do it even when using the same colors and most of all that it looks like it took a lot of effort but it's super quick and easy.

I like to work with a 8 1/2 X 11" piece of water color card stock. Doing this gets me more than one card from one technique piece. I used a spray bottle and some re-inkers - you can use ink pads for this technique but using the re-inkers gives a more intense color. I used Seafoam, Sea Glass and Bay Breeze. I sprayed the paper with water then added some drops of ink, moving them around and adding more ink until it was all covered. I dried it with my heat tool then added a little more water and ink until I was happy with how the it looked.

I cut a piece using the large stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Die Set then embossed the flourish image with Rose Gold Embossing powder, added some Red Gold Kuretake paint splatters and adhered it to a piece of black card stock. I added a simple embossed sentiment from the same stamp set and adhered the panel directly to the card base.

I'm playing along with the following challenge:

THREE ROOM STUDIO SATURDAY CHALLENGE - RAINBOWS

Hi Everyone! It's time for another Saturday challenge with Three Room Studio. Today's challenge prompt is Rainbow. I decided to use card stock to make my rainbow.

I pulled out the Hero Arts Hero Hues Sampler Pack and pulled out colors from the rainbow. I cut each strip to be 3/4" wide and adhered them to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" piece of white card stock. After they were adhered I cut the panel using the large die from the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Small Stitched Rectangle Die Set.

I placed the cut panel into my MISTI and positioned the stamps onto the panel. The words in the Hello Friend Stamp Set from Three Room Studio fit perfectly onto the 3/4" panels. I inked them up with Midnight ink from Catherine Pooler Designs and stamped them a few times to get a nice deep, dark black image and adhered the panel directly to a white card base.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WITH DI'S DIGIS

Hi Everyone!!
Di's Digi Stamps is a Sponsor at the Passionate Paper Creations & Friends Facebook page for the next few days. Not a member? Click HERE to join and then you can take advantage of the something special that is happening.

I'm creating with the Wendy's Cupcake image today. I'm not going to lie - I struggled with this card. I colored the image once then tried to do something, I don't remember what right now but I dropped an ink pad on it and ruined it.
Then after I colored this one, masked it then ink blended the background I was not liking it at all.
So I took a break and made some tea.

When I came back with my tea and had another look I still wasn't happy. I had colored it with my Prismacolor pencils but it was feeling really dull so I grabbed some copics and added some color in areas to brighten it up.
I was liking it a little more but I wasn't happy with the ink blended background. I used some Distress Oxide inks but feel like I chose the wrong colors. I grabbed a couple of gray pencil crayons and added some shading around the image.

Next I cut it down with a stitched rectangle die and layered it onto some black card stock leaving a tiny border.
I chose the fun colorful patterned paper for the background because it had a lot of the colors in it that I was used to color the image.
The sentiment took me awhile to figure out. I went with the block alphabet letters for the HAPPY - cut them out twice from white card stock and added Flame ink to one set and white embossed the BIRTHDAY onto black card stock.

In the end I'm quite pleased with how this card turned out and am glad I didn't give up on it.
Someone suggested to me once that whenever you're struggling with a project the best thing to do is to take a break. I highly recommend their advice because 9 out of 10 times it works.

Unfortunately I did not keep track of all the colors I used but will link below to what I can remember.

LIFE IS BETTER WITH YOU & JOY CLAIR DESIGNS' NEW RELEASE

I had so much fun making my card for today. I used the Good Luck Digital Stamp from Joy Clair Designs' Springish Fiesta 2022 Release.

I used some Copics and some Altenew Artist Markers to color in these images after printing them out on my computer. I was having such fun coloring that I completely forgot to take note of which markers I used - sorry about that. After coloring them I fussy cut them out leaving a small white border.

I printed the sentiment onto another piece of white card stock and cut it with the large stitched rectangle from the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Die Set.
I adhered the panel directly to a white card base the added the colored images with a couple of mini wobblers for some added fun.

I spent the next few minutes just playing with the card.

Have you checked out the new release yet?

I Hope This Makes You Smile Today

I love this sentiment from the new Stacked Sentiments Stamp Set.
I decided to make some flowers using the new Bold Bits & Patterns Stamp Set to pair with the sentiment.

I used Stone Blue and Seafoam for the stems and petals and Shea Butter and Rose Petals for the flowers. The sentiment is stamped with Juniper Mist.
I used the large stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Die Set to cut the panel and adhered it directly to the card base.
I did stamp everything using my Mini MISTI - this is not necessary but I've just gotten into the habit of using it.

Now to get this card in the mail so it can hopefully put a smile on the recipients face when they open it.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! I hope everyone is lucky enough to be able to share the day or part of it with loved ones.

I've got a quick and easy card to share with you that can be used for Valentine's Day or Anniversary or anytime you want o tell someone you love them.

I cut a panel of Black Tie Gala Patterned Paper with the large stitched rectangle in the Postage Stamp Die Set and adhered that directly to a white card base. Next I die cut a stitched heart from white card stock and ink blended it with some Rouge ink. Ink blending after die cutting allows for the stitching to show up more. I adhered the heart directly to the card.
The sentiment is from the Notes of Love Sentiment Set from Catherine Pooler Designs. This is a great set to have in your collection. I embossed it with white embossing powder onto black card stock, cut it up into smaller pieces and adhered them directly to the card.

GROUCHY PETS FROM C.C. DESIGNS

C.C. Designs is sponsoring the Passionate Paper Creations and Friends Facebook group and for a few days they are offering members a discount.  Not a PPC&F member? Click HERE to join in on the fun.

I was lucky enough to be able to color the Grouchy Pets. They may be grouchy but they're still cute. I colored them with my Prismacolor pencils going for a bit of an unkept look. I figured if they're grouchy they're probably a little messy too. There are dies for this set but I just fussy cut them out with my scissors.

I remembered having some paper with paw prints on it in my stash so I tore off a strip and added it to the side on a card panel. The sentiment is pieced together from a few different sets. The Really? is from the Grouchy Pets Stamp Set, the 29 again is from an alphabet stamp set I've had in my stash for years and the 'this is crazy' is from a Recollections set that has a ton of single word stamps on it.
I adhered everything but the grouchy pets directly to a black card base. I used craft foam for them.

I have two cards to share with you today. The first one uses the Truly Inspire Digital Stamp Set.

This is a beautiful set but I especially love the sentiments.

Now I must tell you that I know NOTHING about flowers. I can barely tell a weed from a flower so when it comes to choosing colors I just choose what I feel like using. If I knew what this flower was called I may have googled it to see what colors they come in but I didn't so I chose some oranges, yellows and a red to color it with. And of course some green for the stem. I used a Posca Paint Pen to add some highlights to the petals. I love how it turned out.

My second card is a slimline and uses the Always in Style Digital Stamp.

I feel like this flower is a rose but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I used my Prismacolor pencils again and decided to stay with the same colors as the first flower - oranges, yellows and reds and green for the leaves.
I printed the sentiment out, cut it apart and layered it on to some black card stock before adhering it to the card.
I added a few banners from some patterned paper to the top and adhered it all to a white card base.

Here are the other 5 sets that make up the Springish Fiesta 2022 Bundle. Click on the images to see more detail.

I want to say THANK YOU to Martha for asking me to be a part of this hop. I had a lot of fun coloring these images and will definitely be making more cards with them.

Below is the complete list of everyone participating in the hop in case you missed any.

Next up is Leah Tees but be sure to leave a comment before you go.
