Feeling Chilly Patterned Paper

EVERYTHING in the Retro Winter Release is so stinking cute!! Have you ordered your goodies yet? Do you have a favorite product that just stole your heart? I'm really digging the Feeling Chilly Patterned Paper Pack - it's so perfectly retro and cute and the colors match the new inks perfectly. And some of the patterns are great for any time of year - not just winter.
Both my cards are Christmas themed but I'll be sharing more another day that aren't related to winter at all.

My first card features the following:
and one of my favorite Christmas sentiment stamp sets which you may already own
and the recently released

I stamped the ornaments and colored them in using a blender pen with the new ink colors then cut them out with the coordinating die. I cut a panel from white card stock using the outer layer of the merry Mini Cover plate. next I cut one of the fun patterns from the paper pack on an angle and positioned it where I wanted it to be on the panel then drew a light pencil line so I knew where to stamp the strings for the ornaments. I stamped those in Midnight ink then adhered the patterned paper to the panel and cut it to line up with the white card stock piece. Does that make sense? I cut a very thin strip of midnight card stock and adhered it to the angled edge of the patterned paper then adhered all the ornaments to their strings. I had some tiny metal brads from ??? and put them through the top of the ornament . Using craft foam I adhered the panel to a white card base.
The sentiment is from the Holiday Mix Stamp Set and stamped in Midnight ink.

This next card is SO EASY to make!
It features the following:
and my favorite holiday stamp set - again
and the ever so functional

I cut strips of different widths from all the different papers in the Feeling Chilly Patterned Paper Pack and glued them onto a piece of card stock. Next I grabbed 3 different size circle dies and cut out 3 'ornaments'. I cut two pieces of white card stock using the two larger stitched rectangle dies from the Postage Stamp Die Set. I adhered the largest one to the card base and then using craft foam I adhered the other one to the card base as well. I stamped the ornament bows, drew some lines to the top of the panel then added the ornaments - the larger one is adhered directly to the panel and the other two are adhered with craft foam. Next I stamped the sentiment with midnight ink.
Super easy!

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

RETRO WINTER RELEASE DAY!!

All the products that you've been eyeing up from Catherine Pooler Designs Winter Release is AVAILABLE NOW!!!

This has been such a fun release to play with. There's so many fun, cute retro images and papers in this release.

I've got two cards to share with you today that are all about snowflakes.
This first card uses the Snowflake Trio Dies, the Chillin' Snowflakes Stamp Set along with the recently released
Vintage Baubles Background Stamp which I think works perfectly with this release.

I started by stamping the Vintage Baubles Background Stamp with embossing ink and heat setting it with Misty Sky Embossing Powder. I cut it down with the large stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Die Set and the blended on some Hot Tub and Sangria inks.
I die cut the Trio Snowflakes Dies and pressed them into the embossing ink pad then heat set two of them with Singing in the Rain Embossing Powder and the third one with Misty Sky Embossing Powder. I stamped the sentiment with Sangria ink onto white card stock and sponged the edges with a little Hot Tub and Sangria ink.
I added the background panel to the card base with craft foam. I adhered two of the snowflakes directly to the panel and the last snowflake and the sentiment are added with craft foam.
This would be great as a set of cards in a variety of colors.

My second card today features the Chillin' Snowflakes Stamp Set, the Winter Words Dies along with 3 of the 4 new inks - SangriaPink Champagne and Hot Tub.

I started by randomly stamping the snowflakes onto some white card stock and then die cutting it with the large stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Dies. I added that to a white card base with craft foam.
The sentiment is cut from white card stock and then pressed into the Sangria ink pad. I also die cut the words from craft foam and then adhered them together with liquid glue and then adhered it to a vellum piece cut with a circle die. To adhere this to the card I added some liquid glue on the back side of the vellum only where the sentiment is and then adhered that to the panel.

What's your favorite thing from this release?
It's hard to pick because every time I see something someone on the team has made I think that's my new favorite -
I love it all but I'm really enjoying the patterned paper which you can see HERE.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Today's the Day!
If you are a member of StampNation then you get early access to
the RETRO WINTER Release at Noon EST today!
How cool is that?!
For everyone else the release is tomorrow (30th) at 9am EST.

Over the last week or so Catherine has been revealing of all the products and they are so cute!
She started with the 4 new ink colors.
They complete the Urban Oasis Collection which is part of the Spa Collection - my favorites :)

And this Feeling Chilly Patterned Paper pack!!!
It' so perfectly retro and the colors match the inks perfectly
and it's cute
and it's fun
and can you tell I love it? haha
I think I used some on almost every card I made.

Speaking of patterned paper...

Just paper and dies were used to make this card - you can easily make a set in no time.  Just choose the patterns you like, run them through your die cutting machine with the dies and then adhere them to a card base with craft foam for dimension. Told you it was easy. The hardest part is choosing the paper because they're all great so I made two more. I did do a little stamping on the card on the right because the white die would be lost on that pattern BUT you could easily ink up the paper first and then die cut the sentiment - that would work too.

This release is one that is great for the winter season, not just Christmas - you can make Christmas cards but you can make so much more. Winter birthdays, thank you cards, thinking of you....

This release has you covered for it all!

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Hot Tub Anyone?

Look at this new color from Catherine Pooler Designs. I mean just look at it! It's sooooo pretty!! It's called Hot Tub and it's the 4th and final color to be revealed this week. All the colors will be hitting the stores on Oct. 30th.

The card I made today, well actually it's a gift card/money holder and it uses all 4 of the new colors: Sangria, Pink Champagne, Orange Peel and Hot Tub and they look FABULOUS together.

I used one of my favorite stamp sets: Tis The Season and created a gift card/money holder. It wasn't what I started out to make but it's what I ended up with. The panel is a piece of white card stock cut to 3" x 6 1/2". I stamped the poinsettia with Sangria, the center with Orange Peel, the greenery with Hot Tub and the sentiment with Pink Champagne.
The holder is a piece of Sand Dunes card stock cut to 6 3/4" x 9 1/4" and scored along the long side at 3 1/4" and 6 1/2". Fold on the scored lines having the larger section on the left. Adhere the smaller section on the right on the top and bottom only leaving a pocket for money, a cheque or gift cards. I stamped the inside the same as the front.
I hope that makes sense, if not and you have questions leave me a comment and I'll do my best to help you with it.

I love how this turned out. It was a nice surprise to end up with a gift card holder instead of the card I started out to make.

So that's it for the ink reveals BUT tomorrow starts the reveals of some new products that are hitting the SHOP on Oct 30th along with the inks.
So exciting!!

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Focus on the Good! - New Ink is Very Good!!

Catherine Pooler Designs revealed another ink color today. There's 4 new ones that will be in the SHOP on October 30th along with some other goodies that will be revealed next week. I've linked to the first two color reveals below but now let's talk about today's color.

Here it is.

It's called Orange Peel and it's really pretty. I'm not usually a fan of orange but this one may just have me changing my mind. I pulled out an older stamp set called Focus on the Good and a couple other inks from the Spa Collection and had some fun.

I stamped the sentiment in Midnight ink and then filled in all the letters with a fine black marker. Next I stamped a few flower backgrounds using the new Orange Peel ink and then added the line stamps with Mandarin Spice ink. I stamped the leaves using Green Tea and Eucalyptus inks. There are a couple of ink splats on the card so I watered down a little of the Orange Peel and Mandarin Spice ink and splattered some on with a small paintbrush. It didn't cover it all but it does detract from it a bit.

I also decided to die cut a circle out of the center and pop it up on some craft foam for a little more visual appeal. I added both pieces of the stamped panel to a piece of Midnight card stock cut slightly bigger than the panel and then added that to a white card base.

I loved the Mandarin Spice when it came out and it's great to have another orange to pair with it.

Missed the other color reveals?
Day one was Sangria - check it out HERE.

Day 2 was Pink Champagne - check it out HERE.

Be sure to stop by again tomorrow for the final color reveal.
What will it be?

TCC#122 Bountiful Blessings

It's my favorite time of year. Fall. Cooler weather, falling leaves, windy days, sweaters, chai lattes, pumpkin cookies. So when I saw this weeks theme for the challenge at The Card Concept I knew I was going to have fun with it.

I stamped some pumpkins from CP Designs Autumn Blessings Stamp Set with Mandarin Spice Ink onto water color paper. Before I stamped it I spritzed the inked stamp with some water to get a water color look. This set doesn't have a coordinating die so I just cut them out. Next I stamped some greenery and acorns from CP Designs Fluttering Friends Stamp Set onto water color paper using Midnight Ink and colored them in with some Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I cut them out with the Fluttering Friends Dies.
I made the brick wall with a brick embossing folder and sponged on some Sand CastleOver Coffee and Icing on the Cake inks.
I piled on the greenery and pumpkins in one corner and then added the sentiment. The 'You' is from CP's 2 You's Die Set and the Thinking Of is from her Amazing Floral Stamp Set and embossed with white onto Midnight card stock and everything is added to a white card base.

Click HERE to see how the rest of the team was inspired. I hope you'll come join us in the challenge because I'd love to see your card in the gallery.

Pink Champagne Anyone?

Did you see yesterdays color reveal from Catherine Pooler Designs?
It was the gorgeous color Sangria. Check it out!

Today's color is Pink Champagne - so pretty!

I paired the Pink Champagne with the Sangria for the flowers and then added Seafoam and Spruce for the leaves. All of these are from the Spa Collection and look beautiful together.

I used the Grateful Heart Stamp Set along with the coordinating die set to make my card. I started by stamping the sentiment with Midnight ink then stamped the flower swag on either side of it. I used a blender pen to color in the petals but I didn't blend it all in smoothly. I don't know what it's called, or even if that style of coloring has a name but I like the...choppy? look to it. So I did the same thing with the leaves and honestly I think I'll be coloring more things like this. I cut the swags out with the coordinating dies and then pieced it back together and added it with craft foam to a piece of paper from the Black Tie Gala Patterned Paper pack and then added that to a white card base. A few little heart sequins and this card is done.

Are you excited to see the new ink reveal tomorrow?
We're excited to share it with you!
