SENDING HUGS YOUR WAY

Who needs a hug? This card is full of them and zero stamping or coloring.

I used the Hugs die from Poppystamps and die cut it multiple times from kraft card stock and 4 times from red card stock. I started with a panel that was 4"x5 1/4" and began adhering the die cut words offsetting each one. Once the panel was covered I used a stitched rectangle die from Lawn Fawn to cut the panel down then I glued the other three red hugs together and added it to the red one on the panel. A few of the smallest stitched heart die from Catherine Pooler Designs cut with the same red card stock finishes the panel.
I added a piece of kraft card stock to the white card base and used a strip of patterned paper from the Through The Woods Pack from Catherine Pooler Designs - it's Christmas themed but that doesn't mean you only have to use it at Christmas - the striped worked perfectly with my color scheme.
I added the panel with craft foam and this card is done.

LOW TIDE OR HIGH TIDE

Hi Everyone!!
I hope you are all doing well and making time to do something you enjoy. With everything that's happening in the world right now it's more important than ever to practice self care - whatever that looks like for you. Lately for me that means lots and lots of chai lattes.
This past week has been a bit stressful for me. A couple of years ago I had an issue with my right eye where something was detaching from my retina - not serious, I got through it with a tiny spot that has remained on my eye that I constantly see. It happened to my left eye last week but this time it was much worse. I had some tearing, bleeding and a hole and a lot of spots all over my eye. It was like a tiny fish net covered my eye and there was a ton of stuff caught in the netting. I ended up needing a laser treatment to stop it from getting worse and losing my sight in that eye. Then 2 days after all that while things are healing I get some bug bites. On both of my eyes. Yup. They both puffed up and got really itchy and the whole right side of my face ended up puffing up.
The swelling is going down and the itching is getting less. The spots in my right eye are lessening, they're not gone yet but I'm hoping in time they disappear completely. In the mean time I'm drinking another chai latte :)

Enough about that. Let's talk about this card.

I love coloring the octopus from the Ocean Chums Stamp Set - it makes me smile especially when I use bright colors.  I used a blender pen and a couple of blue inks to color it in then cut it out with the coordinating die. I used a white Posca Paint pen to color in the suckers on the tentacles and to add a little highlight.
Once it was all colored in I layered it onto a panel that I layered with the Cleo Slimline Die cut to fit the panel. I adhered the throwaway bits back in their spots. I adhered a strip of paper from the Black Tie Gala Paper Pack - I chose the circles because it made me think of bubbles. I added the panel with some craft foam then added the sentiment.

Remember to make time for some self care.

PLAYING WITH JACKS AT CAS-UAL FRIDAYS

I made three quick and easy cards to add to my birthday stash all using the same stencil and stamp set from CAS-UAL FRIDAYS
I used the Jacks Stencil and the Shenanigans Stamps.
All the inks are from Catherine Pooler Designs except for the white on the last card - it is from Hero Arts.
Even though I made this first one a birthday card I'm thinking it could make a cute Christmas card too. Inked up in blue the jacks could be snowflakes.

The ink colors on this card are Tranquil, Stone Blue, Cove Blue and Juniper Mist for the jacks and Midnight for the sentiment. After blending on the ink with blending brushes I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI. I wanted to be sure to get a solid crisp image that stood out against the darker jacks and I needed to stamp it a few times to do that.
I layered it onto a piece of black card stock then before adding it to a white card base with craft foam I added a strip of black & white patterned paper from Catherine Pooler Designs.

This next card came together the same as the first one.

I used Limoncello, Garden Party, Be Mine and Flirty Fuchsia inks for the jacks and Midnight for the sentiment. This time I embossed part of the sentiment with white embossing powder onto black card stock.

This last card is a little different. I was going for a classier look so I used white, black and gold.

I used a sponge dauber instead of a blending brush to add the ink to the jacks. I added that panel directly to the card base then embossed the sentiment with gold onto white card stock and added that with craft foam.

The Jacks Stencil is a lot of fun to play with - just like when I was a kid playing with real jacks - but now I get to play with ink too :)
This would be fun to do making each jack a different color hmmmm I definitely have enough inks - maybe I'll give that a try. Perhaps I should try embossing the jacks as well.
I think it's time to head back to my craft room and play some more.

HI THERE MR. STINGRAY

First thing I need to do is apologize. I used a stencil that I should've known wasn't available anymore. I try to only use products that are available so that you don't see something and say 'I have to have that' and then you can't order it. My apologies for that.

I started this card by looking for my Pixie Spray for 20 minutes only to find it sitting in my Raskog card right beside me. It's not the first time and it won't be the last that I lose things right in front of me lol.
Once I found it I sprayed the stencil, let it sit for 1 minute then stuck it to a piece of watercolor card stock. Next I used the re-inkers for Sea Glass and Tranquil Inks. I added a couple of drops onto a glass block, gave it a few sprays of water then spread it over top of the stencil with a paint brush first with one color then the next. I removed the stencil and set it aside to dry. Once it dried I cut it down then ink blended around the edges to give it some depth and added it to a white card base with some craft foam.

I die cut a circle, cutting off one side then using a blending brush I blended on some Cove Blue ink leaving it lighter in the middle.
I stamped the stingray and the bubbles, colored them in using a blender pen then cut them out with the coordinating dies. I added the stingray to the card using craft foam and the bubbles directly to the panel.

The sentiment is from the Chatterbox Background Stamp. I fussy cut it out then added it to the card with some more craft foam.

OCEAN DEEP SLIMLINE CARD WITH CATHERINE POOLER DESIGNS

This card did not end up how I intended but I love how it turned out. I started by stamping the Making Waves Background Stamp onto a white slimline card base with embossing ink and heat set it with white embossing powder.  I used the new Beach Retreat inks and blending brushes to cover the whole piece. As you can see in the picture below, it's not lined up but I decided to use it anyway knowing I could hide the flaws.

To cover up the fact that it's poorly stamped I used the Cleo Slimline Die. I put the solid piece on the card and then adhered each of the 'throwaway' pieces with some liquid glue back in their spots then removed the solid piece. I'm sure I'm not using the proper names of the pieces but I hope that makes sense.

Next I stamped the images you see with Midnight ink, colored them in using a blender pen and a variety of ink colors then cut them out with their coordinating dies. I stamped and embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder then blended Cove Blue ink over top. I used craft foam to add it to the card base then adhered all the images in a cluster around the sentiment.

MY LOVE FOR CATHERINE POOLER DESIGNS BEACH RETREAT INKS IS OCEAN DEEP

Seriously!
Look at those colors on that background.
Takes me to the ocean!
Tranquil, Sea Glass, Bay Breeze and Cove Blue.

I used some of the discarded pieces from the Cleo Slimline Die and adhered them to a white piece of card stock. Next I blended on the new Beach Retreat Inks using blending brushes then die cut it with the large stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Die Set then adhered that to a white card base with craft foam.

I added the sea turtle from the Ocean Chums Stamp Set, cut it out with the coordinating die and added it to the card base with a wobbler. So cute watching it wobble!

The sentiment is a tried and true method. White embossing on black card stock - simple and classic and goes with any style of card making.

All the products from the new release are in the shop now.
Have fun shopping and I can't wait to see what you all make with your goodies.

WAVES OF HAPPINESS COMING YOUR WAY!

Today's the day!
The Waves of Happiness Release from Catherine Pooler Designs is in the shop at 9am EST. This is the cutest release. It's full of sea creatures and puffins and paper, dies and sequins...

I've been playing with the Deep Sea Bundle and oh my word it's adorable! I started with a piece of cardstock and blended on the new Beach Retreat Inks - Tranquil, Cove Blue, Sea Glass and Bay Breeze - then ran it through my die cutting machine with the Cleo Slimline Die. I adhered that to a white card base.

Next I stamped all but the sea horse from the Ocean Chums stamp set and colored them with more inks than I can count using a blender pen. I've listed them all below for you. I cut them all out with their coordinating dies then set about adhering them to the card base.
I kept the sentiment really simple - stamped with Midnight ink onto white card stock and layered on a piece of black card stock.

***Please note - I've linked to the new products I used below but they won't go live in the shop until the time mentioned above***

STAMPNATION EARLY RELEASE DAY FOR WAVES OF HAPPINESS

It's early release day for StampNation members!
Today at noon EST all the products from the Waves of Happiness Release will be in the shop for StampNation members. If you're not a member you can shop Wednesday May 12th but if you want to shop early click HERE to learn how to become a member.

One of my favorite things about this release is that all of the products coordinate so beautifully with some products already in the shop. I only used one of the new products on my card today and paired it with a couple other previously released ocean themed stamps and dies.

I started by ink blending some Sea Glass ink onto a card panel then stamped the Coral Garden Background Stamp over top with Bay Breeze ink. I blended some Bay Breeze ink around the edges to darken it. Next I inked up the whole panel with some embossing ink then heat set it all with Halo Embossing Powder. I love the sparkle it gives.
I die cut a circle and used a blending brush that I had previously used with Cove Blue ink and added a little around the edge. I adhered that to the panel then cut it with the large stitched rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Die set and adhered it to a white card base with craft foam.
I stamped the sentiment using Cove Blue ink then set about adding the images that I had stamped and cut out with their coordinating dies.
I stamped a few little hearts to finish it off.

SWIMMING BY TO SAY HI!

Hi Everyone! I'm back with another card using products from the Deep Sea Bundle which is part of the Waves of Happiness Release that will be in the shop on May 12th at 9am EST.

Did you want to shop early? Like maybe tomorrow Tuesday May 11th?
If you're a StampNation member then guess what? You can shop tomorrow at noon EST!! How cool is that?!
Not a member? Not to worry. Click HERE to learn how you can become a member of StampNation - one of, if not the best stamping community out there.

I used the Ocean Chums Stamps and Dies, the Cleo Slimline Die and the Beach Retreat Inks on todays card. You may have heard me say this already but this is by far my most favorite stamps and dies that I've had the pleasure of playing with.
Look at this octopus! It's so stinkin' cute I can't contain myself.

I started by blending all 4 of the new Beach Retreat Inks onto a piece of white card stock. Then I spritzed a little water onto it, dried it with a cloth and that creates what looks like bubbles. So easy to do.

Here's a look at the Beach Retreat Inks - Tranquil, Sea Glass, Bay Breeze and Cove Blue - 4 beautiful colors to add to your collection.

Next I used the Cleo Slimline Die and cut it twice from white card stock. I layered them on top of each other then offset them to get the look you see below. I cut the ink blended panel to the same width as the die cut piece and adhered it all together with some liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment on the card base then added the panel.

Next I stamped the octopus and using a blender pen colored it in with some fun Catherine Pooler ink colors. I cut it out with the coordinating die and adhered it directly to the card.
I used a white POSCA Pen for the dots on the tentacles.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card from this amazing release.

IN LOW TIDE OR HIGH TIDE IT'S A WAVE OF HAPPINESS

The Deep Sea Bundle is the cutest thing I've ever played with. The images on the Ocean Chums Stamp set are so adorable and fun to play with. I've had the best time creating cards and I've got a couple ideas for some scrapbooking pages I want to try too.
The Deep Sea Bundle, along with all the other products in the Waves of Happiness release and the Beach Retreat Inks will all be in the shop on May 12th.

But if you're a StampNation member then you get to take advantage of one of the many awesome perks. You get to shop tomorrow, May 11th, a whole day before everybody else. If you're not a member, no worries, click HERE to find out how to join.

My card today is full of sparkle. Reminds me of a sunny day at the ocean.

I used all the Beach Retreat Inks you see here - so gorgeous -

and some blending brushes to ink up the front of a slimline card. Next I inked it up with WOW Embossing Stamp Pad then heat set it with Halo Embossing powder. This took it from an ordinary ink blending to a sparkling ocean.

Next I die cut the Cleo Slimline Die 4x and layered them all together then adhered that to the embossed ocean piece. I used a blender pen to color the cute jelly fish then adhered that to the card with some craft foam.
I stamped the sentiment with Midnight ink then cut it apart and layered it onto black card stock and adhered it to the card.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card from this amazing release.
