PEEK A BOO CRITTERS

The critters from the Critter Crew have been so much fun to play with. This time I used them with the Four Windows Cover Plate Die and created some windows for the critters to peek through.

I started by stamping the Woodgrain Background Stamp onto some white card stock with some Sand Castle ink and cut it out with the Four Windows Cover Plate Die. I sponged around the edges as well to add some shading.
Next I stamped out some critters - one for each window and did some really simple coloring. For the background I went through my Catherine Pooler Patterned Paper and pulled out some scraps that added a bunch of brightness and fun with the patterns.

To finish the card I used the Chatterbox Background Stamp and fussy cut out a bunch of the speech bubble sentiments and placed them inside the windows and outside on the window flaps too. A few little firefly's and it's finished.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM THE PARTY CREW

I love that the critters from the Party Crew Bundle pair so well with so many other stamps and dies that I have. I inked up the Woodgrain Background Stamp with Twilight ink and stamped the front of a white card base. I used a blending brush to sponge the edges with some Twilight ink and then darken the outer edge with Black Jack ink. I die cut the frame from white card stock using the Instant Happy Dies. I swiped the Black Jack ink pad across the frame purposely leaving it streaky. I added a piece of acetate to the back of the frame - I was planning on making this a shaker card but I put it together and forgot to add the sequins - oh well - it's a window card? Next I stamped and cut the critters out and added them to the frame. The sentiments in the speech bubbles are from the Chatterbox Background Stamp. I used the Blender Brushes, Cummerbund and In The Park ink to create a background for the frame.

I'm playing along with the following challenges:

WILD ABOUT YOU

I am wild about this release! The For Your Crew Release has 4 different bundles - The Hip Crew Bundle, The Posh Crew Bundle, The Preppy Crew Bundle and The Party Crew Bundle.
The Party Crew is the one I've been playing with but I've also been pulling out other stamps and dies from my stash to use with the bundle.

For my card today I used the new Critter Crew Stamps and Dies along with the Wild About You Stamp Set and the Too Fly Patterned Paper.

The great thing about patterned paper is that when you combine different patterns and colors most of the work on the card is done for you. After I chose the papers I used the Good Things Mini Cover Plate Die to cut two rounded rectangles. I did some ink blending of Cummerbund and In The Park Ink onto the white piece then adhered the stripe paper along the side. I added the two critters from the Critter Crew Stamps and Dies that I had added a little bit of color with using a blender pen. The sentiment is from the Wild About You Stamp set and cut out with the speech bubble from the Critter Crew Dies. I did direct to paper with Rockin' Red Ink and then cut the heart using the heart die from the Critter Crew Dies as well.

I think I may see how many of my stamps, dies and papers I can use these cute critters with.

A RAINBOW HELLO

I'm back today with the easiest card I think I've ever made. I used the Chatterbox Background Stamp that is part of the Party Crew Bundle

I loved coloring as a kid and I still do. This card reminded me of that. I stamped it with Midnight ink onto a white piece of card stock cut to 4 x 5 1/4" then pulled out some markers. I decided to color it in rainbow order. I was hoping to blend the colors a bit but that didn't work so I grabbed a grey marker and outlined all the speech bubbles.

This would be a good one to have the kids make and send to family and friends that they're missing.

IT'S RELEASE DAY!!

Catherine Pooler Designs newest release is in the shop today at 9am EST. The For Your Crew Release has 4 bundles - The Hip Crew, The Posh Crew, The Preppy Crew and the Party Crew.

I have two cards for you today.
This first one is SO incredibly easy and I love how it turned out. I simply stamped the Chatterbox Background stamp with Midnight ink onto white card stock cut to 4x 5 1/4". I used a black marker and colored in the empty space then adhered a Rockin' Red heart that I cut with the Critter Crew Die Set.

This next card has a bit more going on. I started with a white piece of card stock and used the Good Things Mini Cover Plate to cut out a frame. I used the small Happy Birthday stamp from the Critter Crew Stamp set and Midnight ink to cover the frame. I added a sheet of acetate to the back of the frame. When I was looking through my stamps I saw that I had some trees from the Wild About You Stamp Set all inked up with Spruce ink and ready to go. I used In the Park and Cummerbund along with Catherine's new blending brushes to ink up the front of the card base. I added the trees and hid a cute owl in them before adding the frame with some craft foam. I used the Critter Crew stamps and dies to add the rest of the cute critters and sentiments.

These stamps work beautifully with so many others in the CPD collection. I'm eager to pull out some stamps and have some fun.

IT'S ALMOST TIME TO SHOP!

I'm back with another post today using products from the Party Crew Bundle. This is such a fun bundle - actually they all are but this one spoke to me.
All the bundles from the For Your Crew Release will be in the shop tomorrow morning at 9am EST. Which bundle(s) are on your wish list? Leave me a comment below I'd love to know.

I have the products in the Party Crew Bundle

- Critter Crew Stamps & Dies

- Chatterbox Background Stamp

- Four Window Cover Plate

But I was inspired by the products in the Hip Crew Bundle

 Mug Shots Stamps & Dies

- Today Word Die

- Today Sentiments Stamps

- Daily Grind Patterned Paper

- Providence Sequence Mix

I pulled out the Baby It's Cold Outside Stamps and Dies and stamped the mugs. The owl and the chipmunk from the Critter Crew Stamp set fit perfectly. I used a blender pen to give them and the mugs some color.
I stamped the Chatterbox Background Stamp and used a purple marker to color it in. I adhered that directly to a card base. I used the Canyon Mini Cover Plate for the backdrop to the mugs. I pulled out some of the pieces and added a strip of card stock with some Serenade ink. A simple embossed sentiment and this card is done.

*** Please note: I've linked below to all the products I've used and the new products too. The new ones are listed first but won't be live until the times mentioned above***

WELL HEY THERE PARTY CREW

I'm back with another card using products from the Party Crew Bundle which is just one of the 4 bundles being released tomorrow at 9am EST but guess what? If you're a StampNation member then you get to order today at Noon EST!! Woohoo!!!

There's a lot going on with this card but it was really easy to make. I started with the Circle Squared Slimline die but cut it down to fit the standard A2 size card. I adhered it to a white card base then added some of the pieces back in after I did some direct to paper with the new Date Night Ink Collection.

I stamped a few flowers and fireflies on the little circle pieces and adered them in to place. Next I stamped out a bunch of the critters and adhered them along the bottom of the die. Because there's so much color going on in the background there was no need to color in all the images. I added a strip of patterned paper from the Black Tie Gala Paper along the bottom.
For the sentiments I stamped the Chatterbox Background Stamp and cut out some of the images. I adhered them to the card and called this one done.

Using blocks of color this way allows you to leave all the images uncolored. This is a great technique if coloring isn't really your thing.

COMING SOON FOR YOUR CREW

Have you seen the reveals Catherine's been sharing on Facebook of the products in this new release? They are so so cute and fun! One or more of these bundles will be just the right bundle for your crew. They hit the shop on Wednesday February 10th at 9am EST but if you're a StampNation member then you get to shop tomorrow at noon EST.

There's the HIP CREW BUNDLE

- Mug Shots Stamps & Dies

- Today Word Die

- Today Sentiments Stamps

- Daily Grind Patterned Paper

- Providence Sequence Mix

Next is the POSH CREW BUNDLE

- Best Things in Life Floral Stamps & Dies

- Ladies that Lunch Sentiments Stamp

- Quilted Cover Plate

- Bestie Word Die

and the PARTY CREW BUNDLE

- Critter Crew Stamps & Dies

- Chatterbox Background Stamp

- Four Window Cover Plate

I'm lucky enough to have the products from the Party Crew Bundle to play with and the other day I sat down and made 9 cards in one day.

The critters in this bundle make it easy to make quick and easy cards.

I started with a panel cut from the Good Things Mini Cover Plate Die and then cut some masking paper the same size and cut a circle out of it so I could blend on some inks.
Next I stamped the cute critters from the Critter Crew Stamp Set and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I used a blender pen to add some simple coloring. I used the party hats from the Peeking Pets Stamps & Dies and some fun colors to add some festivity to this card.
One of my favorite things in this release is those speech bubbles and they'll work with so many of the CPD stamp sets.

Which bundle is your crew?
Leave me a comment - I'd love to know.

PUPPY LOVE HOP WITH SCRAP'N STAMP

It's the first Friday of the month and you all know what that means.
It means it's time to HOP at Scrap'n Stamp!
And since it's February - the month of love this months theme is Puppy Love. There will be a $50 Gift Certificate up for grabs so be sure to leave a comment on my post and at all the stops along the hop to increase your chances of winning.
You should've arrived from Chala's blog but if you missed it don't worry, I've linked to everybody in the hop below for you.

I knew right away when this theme was decided that I would be using this dog from Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs stamp set - it's adorable! I decided not to color it in though and to add the color through the hearts on the panel and on the background piece. I love this color combination - I think it's perfect for a masculine Valentine's card.
I love all the little messages on the Filled with Love stamp set from Taylored Expressions - they'd be adorable in a varietly of colors and placed in a jar but sadly I don't have a jar stamp set - I think I need to remedy that lol.

This next card is even simpler than the first and is pretty self explanatory.

Alright, it's time to hop but don't forget to leave me a comment first before you go.

Susan - that's me
Jessica - next

YOU ARE LOVED

Today's card does not involve any stamping at all. I didn't set out to make a card without stamps but I really like it and will do it again.

I started with the Circle Squared Slimline Die. I cut it from Premium White card stock and layered it onto a white card base. I love the white on white look - it's clean and full of texture. Save the pieces that pop out of the die for other cards - I used the leftover bits for this card.

I used the Scribbled Hearts Stencil, Samba and Do-Si-Do inks to stencil on some more pattern to the already patterned paper I chose from the I Love You Soy Patterned Paper. Next I used the Nested Stitched Hearts Dies to cut some hearts from that paper and added them to the card.
I used the You Are Loved Die for the sentiment. I cut it 4x from white card stock, layered them all together then added them to the big heart.

This design is really simple and can have so man different looks just by changing out one item like the slimline die or change it all for a completely different look but still using the same design.

I am joining in on the fun at the Color Hues Challenge
