PEACE & JOY

I always know it's going to be a good day when I wake up with an idea for a card, make it right away and it works out the way I had envisioned it.

One of my favorite things about Winter is the snow on the trees and how they look at night when the moon is out. That's the idea I woke up with this morning.

I started with stamping the trees from the Wild About You Stamp Set with Spruce ink and then cutting them out with the coordinating dies. I stamped on the trunks with Icing on the cake ink and then using a POSCA pen I added the snow.

To make the sky I blended some Limoncello, Sage and Party Dress inks on a piece of white card stock. I added the ink in blotches and didn't worry about it all blending smoothly. Next I took Juniper Mist ink and blended that over most of the panel but again not smoothly as I wanted to be able to see a small spot of it. To finish the sky I used Midnight ink and went around the edges to really darken it in.

To finish the card I used the large stitched rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Die Set to cut the sky panel and to also cut a piece of white card stock for snow. I cut the edges of the white piece to make hills and added one directly to the sky panel and one with craft foam for dimension.  I used the POSCA pen to add snow to the sky and then I stamped the sentiment from the Holiday Mix Stamp Set and heat set it with white embossing powder. I adhered the moon and the trees to the panel and then adhered that to a grey card base with craft foam.

DON"T FORGET
Today is the last day to take advantage of the great savings at Catherine Pooler Designs and they are definitely great! I mean even the ink is on sale and that never happens.

MERRY CHRISTMAS PUPPIES AND BLACK FRIDAY SALE

When I made this card I had another idea in mind but as often happens when crafting - ideas change.  I stamped and cut the dogs out of some scrap card stock I had. I didn't want to color the images so I used colored card stock.
I stamped and cut out two hats then did the mirror stamping technique for one of the hats. I colored them in with Cranberry Fizz ink and a blender pen. I used Twilight ink for a little shading on the white parts of the hat.

Next I used the mid sized stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Die set to cut a panel to adhere the dogs directly to. The hats are added with craft foam for some dimension. I added the panel with craft foam to a white card base that I had already added papers from the Through the Woods Patterned Paper.
I love this paper! I want it for Christmas wrapping paper, I want to use it to decorate my home with - I LOVE IT!!
I embossed the sentiment with white onto another piece of scrap card stock and adhered it with more craft foam. I used a Posca Pen to add the white dots for the eyes to finish it off.

And now for some exciting news.

There's a BIG sale happening at Catherine Pooler Designs and it starts WEDNESDAY! This sale is on ALL the items in your cart! That's right everything is on sale! Even ink!! And those blocks too!

LOVE! THESE! TREES!

These may just be my favorite tree stamps ever made!
The Fun Forest Stamps and the coordinating Fun Forest Dies are cute, fun, whimsical and so easy to use.
For today's card I first die cut all the trees then stamped the trunk and branches with Spruce ink. For the leaf portion I inked up the image with Spruce ink but stamped it off once on scratch paper then stamped it onto the die cut. I love the uneven sort of splotchy look because no tree in nature is one solid color and neither are my images.

To create the background I die cut the Throwing Confetti Cover Plate then cut it down using the large stitched rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Dies. I covered the bottom portion with some snow hills that I had first cut with the same stitched rectangle die.
Next I added the panel to a white card base with some craft foam for dimension then adhered the trees. The sentiment is from the Holiday Mix Stamp set (I love this set and use it every year) and embossed in white onto black card stock. This is a great way to break up all the white on a card and it's one of my go to ways to do sentiments.

Tip: save all the circle bits from the Throwing Confetti Die and use it in a shaker card.
This would be an easy one to do multiples of - you could change up the colors of the trees for some fun.

IT'S SNOW TIME

My hubby and I just got back from a long walk in the snow.

Blue sky everywhere and snow on the trees and the ground - it was beautiful.

It reminded me that I hadn't shared this card with you yet. I love the bunnies from the Bunny Slopes Stamp Set - they're skating, skiing and tobogganing and they look so cute doing it. There's one bunny that's tobogganing but I wanted two so I did some mirror image stamping. I've tried this quite a few times in the past but always failed. Recently I started using my MISTI when I do mirror stamping and now it works every time I do it.

I used the One Fine Tree Background Stamp and Spruce Ink for the background. Next I stamped on some snowflakes with embossing ink and heat set them with white embossing powder. I cut a couple of snow banks from white card stock and added them to the background panel. Once I colored in the bunnies I cut the original one with the coordinating die and I fussy cut the mirrored one. I stamped the sentiment in Midnight ink then added the bunnies with craft foam.

Now I want to go tobogganing :)

FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS

I love houses that are all lit up at Christmas - it looks so festive - this house may not have lights but it's all sparkly and pretty with embossing glitter. I used WOW's Metallic Gold Sparkle for the roof and I used Vintage Peacock for the rest. I just looked in the store and Vintage Peacock is not available anymore but you could do it in any color you like.

I blended on a little bit of It's a Boy ink then stamped the sentiment in Icing on the Cake ink. Normally I would stamp the sentiment last but I wanted it there so I wouldn't stamp the trees too low. I used Deck The Halls ink and did some first and second generation stamping.
I added the house with some craft foam and then stamped a couple of hearts from the Bunny Slopes stamp set with Rockin' Red ink.

I adhered the panel to a white card base with craft foam for more dimension. This card came together really quickly and would be fun to mass produce but change up the colors of the embossing. This may be the card I send out this year ;)

GOING TO THE CHAPEL

I woke up today with an idea for a wedding card using the Alpine Village Stamp Set from Catherine Pooler Designs. The church I stamped was inspired by one I saw done by Verity Biddlecombe. I stamped the church with Twilight and Black Jack ink and the trees with Deck the Halls. When I ordered this stamp set I forgot to order the dies so I had to cut them out by hand but thankfully they were easy to cut. I used the MISTI to stamp the church. I first stamped it in Twilight ink then I masked off the areas that I didn't want to ink up with Black Jack and stamped it. This is an easy way to give the image a little more dimension.

It's hard to see in the photo as my lighting wasn't great this morning but I cut a piece of white card stock to be a snowy hill and adhered it to a white card base. Next I adhered all the images to the card then using a stencil and some white embossing paste I added falling snow over top of the whole card.
The sentiment is from the Tie the Knot Sentiments Stamp Set. I embossed it with white on black card stock and adhered it to the card with craft foam for dimension.

The funny thing about this card is that about 2 hours after I made it and right before I wrote this post I checked my emails to find an invite to my nephews wedding in Scotland. It was a complete surprise. He's getting married on Monday and we're attending via Zoom.

Hi Everyone and welcome to this months hop with Scrap'n Stamp Canada. The theme this month is Sweater Weather. I LOVE sweater weather!!

Leave a comment below and at all the stops on the hop for your chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate to the Scrap'n Stamp shop.

I stamped the adorable girl  from Penny Blacks Bundled Buddies with Versafine Nocturne ink onto a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor card stock. I used my stamp positioning tool and left the stamp in it so that when I was done water coloring the image I put it back in and re-stamped the image. This helps to make the black lines crisp again.

Check out this awesome deal at Scrap'n Stamp right now!
On selected items you save $20 when you buy the stamp and the die set! Click HERE to shop. This deal ends on Nov. 8th so don't delay.
