Why I've been MIA

I haven't been around for a couple of weeks now and boy
have I missed it. My daughter and I are switching rooms.
She's moving down to the basement and I'm moving
upstairs. For some unknown reason I thought it
wouldn't take as long as it has. I'm planning on
having it finished this weekend and getting back
to stamping as soon as it's finished.

I have way more stamping supplies than I thought I did
and my daughter has way more clothes than I thought
she did!

I've painted the trim a nice crisp white and the walls are
going to be a nice warm gray color called 'storm'. I love
the color gray and I love storms so I thought it was the
perfect color to choose. I'll be painting the gray this

Once the painting is done the process of moving all my
 supplies upstairs begins.

I can't wait for it to be finished and to start stamping

See y'all real soon!

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Colour Me...!

The school year is winding down - only 2 more weeks and
then it's summer break - YAY!!!!  I have a list a mile long
of things I want to do, techniques I want to try, books I
want to read... before I do all that though I'll be down-sizing
my craft room and moving it upstairs and my daughter will
be moving downstairs. It's a big job but I'm really looking
forward to the change.

But first it's time for a Father's Day card. This is for my
Father-in-law - I'm not worried that he'll see it though as I'm
sure he doesn't read my blog.

After I made this card I realized it was perfect for
the challenge at Colour Me...! this week. The challenge
is Colour Me Striking - use the colors night of navy, real red
and a neutral.

I love the layout - I think it's one I'll be using again and again.
This card turned out only slightly different than the plan
that I started out with. I love the colors and the little
anchors and stars.

Colour Me Merry

While I haven't been blogging for the last two weeks I have
been crazy busy making grad invites and prepping for classes.
Today was the first time in about 2 weeks that I've been
able to create just for fun and I am definitely having fun!

This card combines two challenges.
The Merry Monday challenge to add sparkle and
The Colour Me...! challenge to make a monochromatic
card using white on white or vanilla on vanilla (neutrals
are also welcome).

I used some sparkly white embossing powder and the gold sequin
trim to create my sparkle. It's much more 'sparkly' in person.

Now back to my craft room to play some more.
Have a great weekend everyone!!
And thank you for all your kind comments and
sticking with me through my sporadic postings lately.
I appreciate you all!!!
