CANADA, EH! HOP WITH SCRAP'N STAMP

We've got 3 Canadian Prize Packs to give away for this hop. One for someone who comments on Facebook, one for someone who comments on our respective Instagram posts and of course one for someone who comments on the blog posts.

Now, I'll be honest. This was hard! I had all kinds of ideas but putting them to paper with what I had on hand was a different story. But I did have polar bears and I just learned that 2/3rd's of the worlds polar bears live in Canada? I didn't know that until today. So polar bears it is!

I used the Polar Bear Pals Stamps and dies and the balloons are from the Safari Party Stamp Set and they are all from My Favorite Things. The Cloud Stencil is also from MFT.

I stamped the bears with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, colored them in with my limited collection of copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I used Broken China Distress Oxide ink, a blending tool and the Cloud Stencil to fill a white piece of card stock with clouds. I cut out a few circles and tucked the bears in behind them. I stamped some balloons and colored them in with the same copic color pens.

I added a LOT of craft foam and then layered it onto a piece of patterned paper from the B&W Stripes Paper Pack also from MFT.

How are you spending your Canada Day?

We're spending it inside because it's POURING rain here today.

Be sure to join in the Random Acts of Cardness that happens on the Scrap'n Stamp Facebook page. Each day has a different prompt for you to join in on.

SO LET'S HOP!
And don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win one of those gift packs.

OH! SNAP!

I picked up some happy mail yesterday and after a morning of errands I found some time to play. I recently started my retirement and my husband (fingers crossed) will join me in this next stage of our lives soon. Our motto for this next stage is 'take the scenic route' so I knew I had to order the Oh! Snap stamp set.

I kept the card really simple. I stamped 3 of the cameras from the set using Midnight ink randomly onto some white card stock. I should have stamped the sentiment first to be sure of the placement but I lucked out with just enough space for it. I used the little teardrop stamp with the heart in it to fill in some of the gaps.

To add color to the page I turned the stamps over and inked up the back of the stamp. I stamped it off once on scrap paper and then stamped it over top of each image. I love this look.

I layered it onto a piece of black card stock leaving a tiny frame and then adhered that to a grey card base.

PEEKING PETS BIRTHDAY CARD

Our daughters were visiting this past weekend and my oldest asked me to make a birthday card for her boss. Her boss loves cats so I pulled out the new Peeking Pets Stamps and the coordinating dies from Catherine Pooler and had some fun. I colored this kitty up to look like her friends cat and added those super fun glasses from the new Pet Specs Dies
It's a birthday party so of course the cat needs a party hat (from the Peeking Pets Stamp set), some balloons and a sentiment (from the Birthday Icons Stamp Set) and a fun banner.
I used papers from the new Poppin' Patterned Paper collection and die cut the banners using the Build-a-Bunting Dies

I needed something to layer all the pieces onto and chose to cut the Canyon Mini Cover Plate from white card stock. I adhered it to a grey card base and then adhered everything directly onto the card except the hat - that I added with some craft foam.

CELEBRATE!!

I haven't had as much time as I'd like to stamp recently but that's about to change. I retired yesterday WOOHOO!! and we are officially moved into our new place. We still have work to do - unpacking and organizing and still have more renos to do but it's so nice to wake up here today and not have to go to work.
I headed down to what's going to be my craft room/exercise room and started stamping. Because it's grad weekend here I made a grad card.

I started with the Sunburst Stencil and using a blending tool I added some Limoncello ink out to the edges. Next I stamped the banner strings from the Build-a-Bunting Stamp Set and then using the Build-a-Bunting dies I cut out some banner pieces using one of the papers from the Poppin' Patterned Paper. I added all the pieces to the strings with some liquid glue.
Next I cut the frame from the Chalkboard Frame Dies set from white card stock and dragged the Black Jack ink over top to make a grey frame. The dog is from the Peeking Pets Stamp Set, cut out with the Peeking Pets Dies and colored in using a blender pen with Sand Castle and Over Coffee ink. The grad cap is from the Peeking Pets Stamp Set and those super cute glasses are cut from black card stock using the Pet Specs Dies. I LOVE THOSE!!

I added a few of the star sequins that are in the Soda Springs Sequin Mix and the sentiment is from the Yay Gifts Stamp Set. I used some adhesive strips to add the frame, layered it onto some black card stock and then added it to a white card base.

YAY GIFTS! CATHERINE POOLER PRODUCTS

The Let's Party Collection from Catherine Pooler that hits the shop at 9am EST on Wednesday the 17th - (that's tomorrow folks!!) is a reason to celebrate! If you're a StampNation member you can order right now - just one of the many perks of being a member.

I've had so much fun playing with the Poppin' Patterned Paper and the Yay Gifts Stamp Set.

I made the paper pieced balloons using the other day - you can see that here. Yesterday I shared a shaker card using more of the same balloons. Today's card is a simple celebration card. I ran the paper pieced panel of balloons through my die cutting machine with a rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Dies  I highly recommend this die set - I use it on a LOT of my cards. I cut the celebrate die with Midnight card stock and adhered it directly to the panel. I added the panel to a card base with craft foam and then added some of the super fun Soda Springs Sequins to finish it off.

If you're a StampNation member don't forget to grab your free stamp set.

LET'S PARTY!! AND STAMPNATION PERKS

This release is so FUN!!! Seriously, there's nothing in it that's not fun to create with.
It hits the shop on the 17th - that's Wednesday!! BUT if you are a StampNation member then you'll be able to shop today!!! Not a member? Don't worry - click HERE to find out more and see all the perks of being a member.

My card for you today is a shaker card.

The other day I shared a card explaining how I made the patterned balloons. You can see that post HERE. I took one of the many cards I made that day and made it into a shaker card. I used the large stitched rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Die set and cut the piece for the inside of the shaker. The piece that was left over became the frame. I added a window sheet to the back of the frame and then added some adhesive foam strips around the frame. I poured some sequins onto the balloon panel and then adhered the frame to it. I added that piece to a white card base and then gave it a good shake.
I LOVE IT!! The colors, the patterns, the fun of shaking it - it all makes me smile.
You could throw a grad hat on this card and it would be a great graduation card for someone.

And if you're a StampNation member don't forget your FREEBIE! Another great perk for being a member. This is the third free set in a series. Just add it to your cart before you check out.

I used the Round Balloon Stencil on my card today but instead of making it all fun colors and festive I made a monochromatic card.

A lot of people are not happy about turning 50. It never bothered me but I did receive cards to the effect that my life was over at 50. I thought it would be fun to make a card like that.
I chose Black Jack and Twilight inks and using a Life Changing Blending Brush I added 5 balloons to a white card panel. I stamped on the strings and the sentiment from the Yay Gifts Stamp Set using Black Jack ink. I heat embossed the stars from the same stamp set onto the balloons with white embossing powder. I wanted a few of the stars filled in so I colored them in with a white paint pen and then heat set it quickly with white embossing powder.
I embossed the 50 in white also. The numbers are from the Milestone Birthday Numbers Stamp Set. I added a few sequins from the Motor City Sequins mix to finish it off.

Now for something a little more colorful.

For this card I stamped the balloons from the Yay Gifts Stamp Set onto some of the paper from the Poppin' Patterned Paper and set about fussy cutting them apart. Next I stamped the balloons again onto some white card stock and then paper pieced different stamped patterns onto the panel. I stamped the strings and the sentiment, added a few of the fun Soda Spring Sequins and voila - a fun and colorful card. Because I stamped the balloons onto 6 different papers I was able to make a lot of cards. Just make yourself a big cuppa because cutting that many balloons requires some tea.

So mark you calendars.
These products are available on:
Wednesday June 17th for everyone
Monday June 15th for StampNation members.
