I'm creating with the Wendy's Cupcake image today. I'm not going to lie - I struggled with this card. I colored the image once then tried to do something, I don't remember what right now but I dropped an ink pad on it and ruined it.
Then after I colored this one, masked it then ink blended the background I was not liking it at all.
So I took a break and made some tea.

When I came back with my tea and had another look I still wasn't happy. I had colored it with my Prismacolor pencils but it was feeling really dull so I grabbed some copics and added some color in areas to brighten it up.
I was liking it a little more but I wasn't happy with the ink blended background. I used some Distress Oxide inks but feel like I chose the wrong colors. I grabbed a couple of gray pencil crayons and added some shading around the image.

Next I cut it down with a stitched rectangle die and layered it onto some black card stock leaving a tiny border.
I chose the fun colorful patterned paper for the background because it had a lot of the colors in it that I was used to color the image.
The sentiment took me awhile to figure out. I went with the block alphabet letters for the HAPPY - cut them out twice from white card stock and added Flame ink to one set and white embossed the BIRTHDAY onto black card stock.

In the end I'm quite pleased with how this card turned out and am glad I didn't give up on it.
Someone suggested to me once that whenever you're struggling with a project the best thing to do is to take a break. I highly recommend their advice because 9 out of 10 times it works.

Unfortunately I did not keep track of all the colors I used but will link below to what I can remember.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!
