I made three quick and easy cards to add to my birthday stash all using the same stencil and stamp set from CAS-UAL FRIDAYS.
I used the Jacks Stencil and the Shenanigans Stamps.
All the inks are from Catherine Pooler Designs except for the white on the last card - it is from Hero Arts.
Even though I made this first one a birthday card I'm thinking it could make a cute Christmas card too. Inked up in blue the jacks could be snowflakes.
The ink colors on this card are Tranquil, Stone Blue, Cove Blue and Juniper Mist for the jacks and Midnight for the sentiment. After blending on the ink with blending brushes I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI. I wanted to be sure to get a solid crisp image that stood out against the darker jacks and I needed to stamp it a few times to do that.
I layered it onto a piece of black card stock then before adding it to a white card base with craft foam I added a strip of black & white patterned paper from Catherine Pooler Designs.
This next card came together the same as the first one.
I used Limoncello, Garden Party, Be Mine and Flirty Fuchsia inks for the jacks and Midnight for the sentiment. This time I embossed part of the sentiment with white embossing powder onto black card stock.
This last card is a little different. I was going for a classier look so I used white, black and gold.
I used a sponge dauber instead of a blending brush to add the ink to the jacks. I added that panel directly to the card base then embossed the sentiment with gold onto white card stock and added that with craft foam.
The Jacks Stencil is a lot of fun to play with - just like when I was a kid playing with real jacks - but now I get to play with ink too :)
This would be fun to do making each jack a different color hmmmm I definitely have enough inks - maybe I'll give that a try. Perhaps I should try embossing the jacks as well.
I think it's time to head back to my craft room and play some more.
Happy Stampin'
and thanks SO MUCH for visiting!
Stay safe everyone!!
