Traditional Colors

I didn't think I'd have time to play in the
Merry Monday challenge this week, but I'm glad I did.
The challenge is to use the traditional colors of red, green and white
on your card. My first thought was to make a CAS wreath card.

I did decide to add an extra color - I used a neutral (soft suede) to
stamp the pine cones and the greeting.
I haven't made too many 'traditional' colored cards this year but I
think I'll make a few more of this one. Super quick and super easy too!

I had so much fun making this card. I just received the tree dies
in the mail from My Creative Time - oh my gosh I LOVE THEM!!!!
I can't wait to play with the whole set later today.

I've had the stamp forever. I brushed the dust off of it and put it
to use on this card.

Blue and Pink?

Yup! Blue and pink snowflakes!
I think it's safe to say that my style has changed. I never would have
dreamed of making a blue and pink Christmas card a year ago.
But now I love it!
I have completely embraced the CAS style and find it's now what I do
most often.

The challenge this week at Christmas Card Challenges is a color
challenge. Use some or all of the colors on a Christmas card.

I am also submitting this into the following challenges:

Clear it Out - anything goes

Festive Tags

There's something about a homemade tag on a gift that speaks to me.
I think it adds an extra special and festive touch.

When I saw the tags that Carrie from Carrie Stamps made and
posted on her blog, I was inspired to go make some of my own.
Please check hers out - they are fantastic!!!

The challenge at CASology is a cue card challenge and the cue is
FESTIVE. They are teaming up with the amazingly talented
Tracey McNeely and her '25 Days of Christmas Tags' extravaganza.

If you haven't checked out Tracey's blog and seen all the tags, what are
you waiting for? There's links to other blogs and some great
prizes to be won!

Merry Monday Joy!

When I woke up this morning I had an idea for the challenge
at Merry Monday this week. I was almost late for work
because I HAD to make it before I left.

The challenge was to create a card with ornaments using
silver/gray and blue.

I recently received some Tim Holtz ink and was eager to
play with them. I used them with an aqua painter to color in
the ornaments. To make the coordinating card stock I sponged
some ink onto white card stock. I embossed the top of
the ornaments with silver embossing powder to finish them off.

I wish I had a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to brush on the
ornaments - it's going on my next order!

supplies:
all from SU unless noted
card stock: whisper white, basic gray, silver foil
stamp sets: Linear Baubles (Stamp-it Australia),
      Jolly & Joyful (L'il Inkers)
Tim Holtz ink: Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass
Stampin' Up ink: memento black
big shot: Pretty Print EF, Jolly die (L'il Inkers)
embellishments: rhinestones, silver 1/8" ribbon,
    silver embossing powder

Do Snowmen Make You Smile?

This card makes me smile!
There's something about a big, jolly looking snowman
with a smile that just makes me
happy.

I found this snowman as a free coloring page for kids somewhere
on the internet (sorry, don't remember where).
As soon as I saw him I thought he'd be perfect on a card.

I used my blendabilities to color him in, some sparkly
embossing powder to create the snow and a few sequins for
falling snow. The striped paper and
the banner greeting (sorry it's a little hard to see) remind me
of the sign at the North Pole - you know the one - it's in
all the movies and children's books.

Sorry the photo is a little dark - time for a new system.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Winter Wonderland - Frosty the Snowman
Crafty Calendar Challenge - It's All About Christmas
Sparkle N Shine Creative Challenges - use loose glitter,
embossing powder and/or flocking
Creative Corner Challenges - any Christmas card
Love to Create Challenge - Anything Goes

Silver Joy

I recently received an order from Stampin' Up! with all kinds of
goodies that I've been eager to play with but I haven't been in
my craft room for almost a week now and boy have I missed it.
We've had some plumbing issues in the
house that took until yesterday to sort out. Not fun!!

I ordered the Silver Foil paper from Stampin' Up! with this card in
mind. Well almost this card. Originally I was going to use some
silver ribbon and some clear sequins but in the end I decided
against them - I liked how CAS this card is and the shine that the
foil paper gives the card is amazing. I wished it photographed better.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Stampin' Royalty - silver
Inkspirational - shine
Sister Act Card Challenge - anything goes
Creative Moments - anything goes (celebration)

For a Friend

I made this card for someone who loves pink and loves flowers.
She is going to be starting chemotherapy very soon so I
wanted to make her a card to let her know that I am
thinking of her.

The inside of the card reads
'Keep your faith in the beautiful things;
in the
sun when it is hidden, in the spring
when it is gone.'
