I started this card a couple of weeks ago for another Three Room Studio Saturday challenge. Any guesses which one? You can check it out HERE.
This weeks challenge is to use PASTEL colors on your project. Pastel colors have never been my first choice for anything but when I looked at this card I thought these are pastel colors I could relate to.
Now some of you are going to say these are not true pastel colors and I'm okay with that. I looked up the definition - it means 'a soft and delicate shade of color' and since 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' I see these colors as a soft and somewhat delicate shade of color.
I started with the TRS Believe in Fairies Stamp Set and stamped the smaller stamps repeatedly over the panel with some Nocturne ink. Next I used some Catherine Pooler Design inks to make the striped background. I love her mini ink pads for doing this. I finished the panel by cutting the panel with the largest die in the Lawn Fawn Small Rectangle Die set and added it to a white card base with craft foam.
I stamped the fairy (I think she's Tinkerbell) and colored her in with a blender pen and some of the same inks I used on the background and some Sand Castle ink for the skin. I cut her out and adhered her directly to the panel.
I used a sentiment from the same stamp set, embossed it with white onto black card stock and adhered it directly to the card as well.
I'm glad I participated in this challenge. I now look at pastel colors in a whole new way.
What about you?
We'd love it if you played along with us. You could even win a gift certificate to the TRS store! How cool is that!!
You can find more details about the challenge here.
Thanks for spending time with me today!
Take care
Susan
