MAKE YOUR OWN PATTERNED PAPER

One of my favorite things to do when making cards is to make my own patterned paper. It's so easy to do and the best thing about it is you can make it to match your images just by using the same colors.

I used the two sentiments from the Holiday Mug Shots Stamp Set and 5 inks. Remember to choose colors to coordinate with your images or match your images to coordinate with the background. Either way works. After stamping the background I grabbed a blender pen and the same inks and colored two of the images from the same stamp set. When done I cut them out with the coordinating dies.
The sentiment is from the Seasonal Mix Stamp Set and embossed with white onto black card stock. When you do a sentiment background you don't always need another sentiment but because my background piece is quite busy with color I wanted some black to help draw your eye to the images.

I cut the sentiment with a die circle then decided I needed more black so I layered the background piece onto some black card stock then added a strip under the cups to give them a place to sit.

I've got a couple of more ideas that I want to make and share using this same layout but changing it up a bit. I'll be back with those soon.

Thanks so much for spending a part of your day with me.

Take care,
Susan
