Hello. Happy Saturday my friends! I don't know about you but I' m thrilled it's Saturday. I have no plans, no commitments and nothing expected of me today. I am going to thoroughly enjoy it.
I'm starting the day with a challenge from Three Room Studio. The challenge is to use your favorite color and mine are blues and greens. I find them so calming to look at and to work with.
I have two favorite inks to do ink blending with - Catherine Pooler Designs and Distress Oxides - and I chose Catherine Poolers Wintergreen, Sea Glass, Daydream and Juniper Mist inks to ink blend the background panel for the Mom's Hibiscus Stamp Set and coordinating die and the Aww Thanks Stamp Set and coordinating die set from Three Room Studio. After I blended the colors onto the panel I cut it with a stitched rectangle die and added it to the card base with some craft foam for dimension.
I stamped out three of the hibiscus flowers and the word hugs and cut them out with their coordinating dies. I thought about coloring the flowers in for a few minutes but decided I really liked the look of black and white against the blues and greens so I didn't.
I adhered two of the flowers directly to the panel then popped up one and the sentiment with craft foam.
