One of my favorite things about coloring with Tombow Dual Brush Pens is how you can get so many levels of color from one marker. I used Tombow 946 Gold Ochre to color this gorgeous floral from the You Are Digital Stamp Set from Joy Clair Designs.
I asked my husband to guess how many markers I used to color the flower and he guessed 3 which made me very happy because like I mentioned above I only used one. I applied the ink quite heavy in the areas that I wanted to be the darkest then used a wet watercolor brush to pull the ink out through the petal leaving some areas untouched with ink.
I used a Tombow N55 marker to do the shading around the outer edges of the flower then cut the panel with a large stitched rectangle the same size as a card front.
The sentiments are from the same Joy Clair Designs You Are Digital Stamp Set, printed on white card stock then layered onto black card stock.
I adhered the panel directly to the card base then adhered the sentiments to the panel.
If you're new to water coloring or have been wanting to give it a try I would suggest floral images because in my mind they are the easiest. Plus in my mind with flowers you don't have to worry about where the light source is coming from as much. They're very forgiving.
Thanks so much for spending a part of your day with me.
Take care,
Susan
