I recently shared this card on the Joy Clair Designs blog and thought I would share it here as well. I had such fun making this card. I combined the image and sentiment from the Just Kitten Me Stamp Set from Joy Clair Designs with some papers and dies from Catherine Pooler Designs.
I stamped the cat onto some mixed media paper then used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color the image. For whatever reason I struggle with browns so I'm challenging myself to use them more and become more comfortable with them. I don't love the coloring on this but I don't hate it either. Hopefully we'll see some progress as I use them more.
After coloring the image, I cut it out and used a Tombow Black (N15) marker to go around all the edges. This helps to hide any imperfections in your cutting skills.
I made the frames using the Chalkboard Frames Dies from Catherine Pooler Designs but sadly they're no longer available. I used the oval die in the Ex Libris Dies to cut the paper under the kitten to be a rug then layered everything onto the floral patterned paper looping the twine in and around the dies. I found that twine at a dollar store.
I added everything to the card base then added the sentiment.
