LETTING PATTERNED PAPER DO MOST OF THE WORK

I really love patterned paper but I don't always know how to use it. What I've been doing with a lot of the papers in the BEE THANKFUL paper pack is covering my whole card front with one piece and then building the card around that.

I covered this card base with the floral pattern and then chose another pattern to work with it. That's another thing about the convenience of paper packs - all the patterns work together. I chose the polka dotted pattern because who doesn't love polka dots with florals.

I used two of the dies in the RUFFLES & DASHES DIES to cut the frame and then covered it with Macchiato ink. I attached the dotted paper to the frame then embossed the sentiment in white. It didn't stand out at all and I didn't want to waste the paper or cover it up so I blended some Macchiato ink around the edges of it and that made it pop. I attached it to the card with some craft foam then added some butterflies from the THANK YOU KINDLY stamp set that are stamped with more Macchiato ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I used my mini MISTI for this to ensure perfect stamping of the embossing ink over top of the Macchiato ink.

Thanks so much for spending a part of your day with me.

Take care,
Susan
