THREE ROOM STUDIO SATURDAY CHALLENGE #90 - PICK A SKETCH

Hi Friends! It's Saturday and that means it's time for another Three Room Studio Saturday Challenge. It feels like it's been a long time since I've done one and I was excited to do this one.

The challenge today is a sketch challenge which is also something I haven't done in a long time. Here is a pic of the sketches. I chose sketch A, but I did turn it onto its side.

I decided to use the new Diamonds & Stars Layering Stencils for the background. I was going to layer them but as I started putting down the first stencil, I completely changed my mind. I put the stencil on the card stock and leaving just the portion you see at the top of the card I masked off the rest. I used three Oxide inks - Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Candied Apple to blend over the stencil. I finished with a little Walnut Stain around the edges.

I removed the stencil, cleaned it up then turned it to do the rest of the panel. I used the same inks again but in reverse order this time. I added the panel directly to a white card base and then I started to struggle with the rest of the card.

I loved how the panel turned out, but I struggled with what to put on top. I found a piece of colored card stock that went with the Oxide inks. I used a stitched rectangle die to cut the panel and a smaller one to cut the rectangle for the sentiment from the Believe in Fairies Stamp Set. I used the Let's Hygge Stamp Set for the cups and the Foliage Stamp Set for the leaves on the cups.
After I colored the images with my Prismacolor pencils (colors listed below), I cut them out and adhered them to the panel adding a little shadow underneath.
I finished by adding the panels to the card using craft foam for a little dimension.

Prismacolor pencils used:
988 Marine Green
1005 Limepeel
1034 Goldenrod
1032 Pumpkin Orange
1054 50% Warm Grey
1056 70% Warm Grey
1065 70% Cool Grey
1062 90% Cool Grey

Thanks so much for spending a part of your day with me.

Take care,
Susan
