It's the most wonderful time of the year... that time of year when stamp companies come out with their new Christmas products!!

I played with the This Christmas Digital Stamps set for my card today.
I printed the image onto a piece of mixed media paper and grabbed some Catherine Pooler Designs inks to do some watercolor.
I added the lighter color first starting at the base of the petals and the leaves pulling the color out but not all the way. I wanted to leave some white on the edges. I then used the darker color to add the next layer of ink, blending it a little but leaving the edges where the colors meet unblended.
For the flower petals I added the second color again but with less water. I added this to the areas I wanted to be the darkest. The first two layers of color on the leaves are green but for the last bit of detail I chose to go in with a green that is more on the blue side. I've recently started adding blue to the leaves and I love how it looks.
I used a light grey to color the shadows of the candle and when it was dry I painted on some shimmer.
I finished the panel with a grey wash under the poinsettias and a blue wash above them then cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die. The sentiment is printed onto white card stock, layered on black card stock then I added it to the panel.
I added all the layers to a white card base popping the panel up with some craft foam to give it some dimension.
