JILL FOSTER INSPIRED WATER COLORING WITH CATHERINE POOLER INKS

I recently watched a Jill Foster water color tutorial where she made the cutest cards. I was so inspired that I got on a roll and made 4 cards. You can check out her video HERE

I wanted to make winter/Christmas cards using animal stamps. I grabbed some of my Catherine Pooler Designs stamps and of course her inks as well. I love water coloring with her inks. I squished the ink pad onto a large block, added a little water then used a small paint brush to paint with.

I stamped the images onto Canson Mixed Media Paper with Midnight ink using my mini MISTI leaving the stamp in the MISTI. After coloring the image, I put it back into the MISTI and restamped the image crisping up the black lines.
I used a blending brush to add some sky around the edges then stamped a few snowflakes on two of the cards and added some die cut snowflakes from mixed media paper to the other two. To finish the owl and the bear card I splattered some white acrylic paint over the panel for snow.

Because I used mixed media paper and it's not smooth, I used the mini MISTI to stamp the sentiments so I could stamp them a few times for good coverage.
I added the panels to a card base then created frames to put over top. I cut some more mixed media paper to 4 x 5 1/4" and used a rectangle die to cut out the center then adhered them to the card.

Thanks so much for spending a part of your day with me.

Take care,
Susan
