I love milk cans and I love sunflowers so it makes sense that I would love the Milk Can Sunflowers Digital image from KLM Digital Designs. It's gorgeous!
I opted to make a slimline card so after I printed the image from my laptop I used a rectangle die to cut it out. I wanted to be sure it was going to fit before I put all the time into coloring it.
I used my Zig Clean Color Real brush Pens to color in the flowers and the milk can. I added the ink directly to the image in the area where I knew I wanted it to be the darkest then using a water brush I pulled the color out into the rest of the section I was coloring. When it was dry I would go back and add more layers of color doing the same technique with the same color and/or a darker shade only this time I wouldn't pull the color out as far.
I used the following colors:
Sunflowers: 050 Yellow, 072, Beige, 062 Dark Brown
Leaves: 044 Deep Green
Milk Can: 094 Gray Brown, 065 Mid Brown, 095 Dark Gray, 092 Blue Gray
Other Flowers: 021 Light Carmine, 025 Pink
I used the following Tombow markers for the background and for grounding the image:
620 Lilac, 553 Mist Purple, N60 Cool Gray 6, N55 Cool Gray 7 and N49 Warm Gray 8
I finished the card with a few splatters of gold paint No. 903 Yellow Gold from the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors set.
