FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES

I don't tend to use sketches when I'm crafting but I saw this sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and decided to play along.

Whenever I've used a sketch I usually copy it exactly which is probably why I don't do them but for some reason this one spoke to me. Possibly because I had a bunch of patterned paper circles on my desk waiting to be used?

I'm quite proud of my first card because I didn't use any of the circles but instead used a cluster of vases and flowers for the shape. I started with an embossed background then masked off a section and did some ink blending for the panel of color. I used patterned paper for the vases and then decided there was enough color so I just stamped the flowers, die cut them and added them to the card. A simple embossed sentiment that was sitting on my desk as well finishes this card off.

I used the same background stamp on my second card but cut it down to be the panel. I did a little ink blending around the edges then layered it onto a piece of white 4 x 5 1/4" white card stock. I used a few of the patterned circles I had sitting on my desk for this one. I pooped the middle circle up with craft foam then cut two other circles in half and adhered them to the panel. I tucked in a vase and some stamped greenery from the same stamp set I used for the above card and again no color. A simple embossed sentiment over top and this one is done.

As I said above these cards are for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge which you can check out HERE

Thanks so much for spending a part of your day with me.

Take care,
Susan
