The Design Team has been sharing our favorite ways to use this incredible ink all week. Today I'm sharing one of my favorite color combos. It's to use shades of the same color and then throw in a pop of red. I used the blues today - LOVE these colors - it works great with neutrals too.

I've got two cards made from one panel and the same supplies. Lately I've been trying to stretch my stamps and use them for more than they were intended. For example, the Puffin Party Stamp Set was not designed with Christmas in mind but throw on a Santa hat and add a few pieces of holly and you've got a Christmas card.

I used Tranquil, Stone Blue, Cove Blue and Juniper Mist with the Wavy Lines Stencil to create the panel. I die cut a circle and saved it for the next card. I blended a couple of the blues - I believe it was Stone Blue and Cove Blue on the card base and stamped the Lighthouse from the By The Sea Stamp Set with Juniper Mist. I added the panel with craft foam then added the images and the embossed sentiments to the card. I love how the Sending Waves of Love sentiment from the Puffin Party Stamp Set takes on a Christmas feel when paired with the From Our Home To Yours sentiment from the Alpine Village Stamp Set

I used the die cut circle piece leftover from the card above and another Puffin for this next card.

I put the Wavy Lines Stencil back in place on the circle piece then added some Golden Era Nuvo Glacier Paste randomly over top. I love how this piece turned out. When it was dry I added it to the card base with craft foam. I decided this Puffin was going to a birthday party so I added the party hat from the Peeking Pets Stamps and Dies. For the pop of red I colored in a few stripes on the hat and stamped the sentiment in red - I usually reach for black when stamping a sentiment but throwing in a pop of color here is fun.

What's your favorite color combination to play with? Leave me a comment as I'm always looking for new combos to try. I have a few different ones that are my go-to's right now and I'll be back soon with another one.

Happy Stampin'

and thanks so much for visiting!*

Stay safe everyone!!
