My hubby and I are camping this week. I brought stamping goodies to make cards but it's been too hot. We're having some of the hottest weather I've ever experienced. It's come with a heat warning. We keep dunking ourselves in the lake to stay cool so making my Christmas card for this hop in our trailer with 43C/110F was an experience.
Thankfully I found a nice shady spot today to write up this post - there's even a nice breeze and a cold beverage too lol.
I decided to make a winter themed card with some holiday wishes. I used the Winter Wear stamp set from Concord & 9th - it's one of my favorites because the image looks so much like our daughters.
I stamped hair, face, glasses and hat directly on the card stock panel and I stamped the scarf on a scrap piece of card stock then cut it out without the fringe.
I used my MISTI for this next part. I put the card stock panel into my MISTI, put the cut out scarf where I wanted it then put the stamp on top of it. I picked up the stamp with the door of the MISTI, removed the scarf then inked up the fringe and stamped it on the panel.
I colored the scarf, hair and hat then added the scarf with some craft foam lining it up with the fringe that is stamped on the panel
(I hope that all makes sense)
The sentiment is from the Sassy Pants Holiday Stamp Set from My Favorite Things. I just used the two words from one of the stamps. I stamped it out on a separate paper then cut out the words I wanted, added some color with my pencil crayons, adhered it to the panel then outlined it with a black marker.
Normally I would add a white on black embossed sentiment but I have no power where I'm camping so heat embossing was out of the question.
I added a few snowflakes, blended a little blue ink (whatever was on the brush from the last time I used it) around the edges then added the panel to a white card base with some craft foam.
Now it's time to hop.
Next up is Lindsey but the whole hop is listed below for you in case you missed any stops.
