ADDING COLOR WITHOUT COLORING

This started out as an A2 size card. I began with a piece of white card stock and the balloons from the Yay Gifts! Stamp Set from Catherine Pooler Designs. I used the Twisted Citron and Broken China Distress mini inks and swiped them repeatedly on an angle across the paper until I had enough to stamp the balloons on. I stamped the balloons with Midnight ink then die cut them with the coordinating die. Doing it this way you don't get the white frame around the image you would from coloring each balloon in individually then die cutting but I didn't want to spend time coloring today so this is how I add color without coloring.

I changed my mind to wanting to make a slimline card and repeated the process again making another set of balloons. I cut a little off one of the balloons so I could piece them together.

I glued them onto a piece of white card stock then used the stitched rectangle die from Catherine Pooler Designs Post This Slimline Die set to cut the panel. Next I stamped the balloon strings and the sentiment with Midnight ink. I cut out the sentiment with the coordinating and added it directly to the panel then added the panel to the card base with some craft foam.
To finish the card I used Persian Green (No.033), Light Green (No.041) and Light Gray (No.091) to add a little dimension to the card. I did small flicking motions with the marker - no blending of any kind.

This card came together really quickly. I think I'll make a few of these and switch out the colors so I have a few in my stash when I need them.

Oh Susan, when I saw this card pop up in the gallery first I was in love instantly! I just love the way you did the balloons and it is so perfect if you don't feel like coloring or if you don't have the time. I love the greeting as well! Thanks for sharing your talents with us at Color Hues and making the gallery shine right off the bat. Take care!

Your swinking worked perfectly for these fun balloons! Even better, you got it to work twice - I might luck out on one set of balloons, but would be sure to mess up a second set. :D Terrific card, and perfect for Color Hues!

Such a beautiful, happy card, Susan! I love how you coloured the balloons. The stitched rectangle and white space finish the design perfectly. Nice job. 🙂
