It's the first Friday of the month!! WOOHOO!!! AND it's a long weekend so I think an extra WOOHOO is warranted. At Scrap'n Stamp that also means it's time for a hop and our theme this month is Polka Dots. I definitely had a lot of fun with this one.

As usual I didn't have a complete plan when I started this card. I had an idea but they quite often change as I'm creating a card which is half the fun of creating right? I knew I was going to use a stencil so I grabbed what I had and then settled on the Tim Holtz Polka Dot Stencil.
This is when I decided I wanted some texture so I grabbed some Texture Paste and some Dylusions paint to make it a bright fun color. I used a palette knife to mix the two together then I spread that over the stencil onto some white card stock.
I grabbed the Coffee Understands stamp set from Picket Fence and stamped out the mug 3x. I love to collect mugs - all different colors and patterns and sizes - love them all - the bigger the better though because there's nothing better than a big cuppa when you really need one.
Anyways, back to the card - I cut the mug out with the coordinating die then grabbed my Prismacolor pencils to color each one in a different color and added them to the polka dot panel when it had dried. Before adding them I did tear one edge of the panel and distress the edges a bit. I used the little mug to stamp all over the card base but decided that was a little too busy so I added the strip of brown paper (it was in my scrap pile so I can't say which company it's from for sure) I distressed the edges a bit then added it to the card base.
It was at this point I remembered I needed a sentiment. I love the look of sentiments done on the side and that was about the only option I had so I grabbed one from MFT's Coffee Break set and embossed it in white and added the panel.
