I used the Round Balloon Stencil on my card today but instead of making it all fun colors and festive I made a monochromatic card.

A lot of people are not happy about turning 50. It never bothered me but I did receive cards to the effect that my life was over at 50. I thought it would be fun to make a card like that.
I chose Black Jack and Twilight inks and using a Life Changing Blending Brush I added 5 balloons to a white card panel. I stamped on the strings and the sentiment from the Yay Gifts Stamp Set using Black Jack ink. I heat embossed the stars from the same stamp set onto the balloons with white embossing powder. I wanted a few of the stars filled in so I colored them in with a white paint pen and then heat set it quickly with white embossing powder.
I embossed the 50 in white also. The numbers are from the Milestone Birthday Numbers Stamp Set. I added a few sequins from the Motor City Sequins mix to finish it off.

Now for something a little more colorful.

For this card I stamped the balloons from the Yay Gifts Stamp Set onto some of the paper from the Poppin' Patterned Paper and set about fussy cutting them apart. Next I stamped the balloons again onto some white card stock and then paper pieced different stamped patterns onto the panel. I stamped the strings and the sentiment, added a few of the fun Soda Spring Sequins and voila - a fun and colorful card. Because I stamped the balloons onto 6 different papers I was able to make a lot of cards. Just make yourself a big cuppa because cutting that many balloons requires some tea.

So mark you calendars.

Cute card. I love the idea of paper piecing the balloons. I like making several cards at time and this would work well. Thanks for the inspiration!
