THE BEST CURE

Lately it's pretty safe to say I've been stressed out. A lot. When I'm stressed it helps if I have something to focus on and what takes more focus in card making than inlaid die-cutting with a large background die. I know for some people doing this will stress them out but I find it very relaxing.

I started by die cutting the Flower Burst Cover Plate Die with black card stock. Next I chose some patterned paper. I decided to use Catherine Pooler's Cabana Prints Patterned Paper - I liked how the soft colors looked next to the stark black. I cut pieces to fit in the area that I wanted to die cut - this way I wouldn't have a ton of leftover pieces.
I adhered the black piece to a white card base and then set about gluing in the patterned pieces where they belonged.
I chose a sentiment from the My Kind Floral Stamp Set - stamped it in midnight ink, layered it onto a piece of black card stock and then adhered it to the card with craft foam.
I tied some black & white twine around the top to finish it off.

Figuring out which patterns to use where and then gluing them all in really helped me to focus on the task and set aside the stress. The stress is still there but I'm calmer now and more able to deal with it.
What helps you when you're stressed? Leave me a comment - I'd love to know.

Happy Stampin'

Stay safe everyone!!
