STAMPS, STENCILS & DIES OH MY!

This months hop is featuring products from Wendy Vecchi. It's the first time I've used her products and I've got to say, they're pretty cool. They come with the stamp set, coordinating dies and a stencil! And they're not expensive either. I used Birthday Bash for my card today. You can find all the sets used in the hop today HERE
Now because this is a hop that means there's a prize. Leave a comment at all the stops for a chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate to the Scrap'n Stamp Store. The winner will be announced May 14th on the Scrap'n Stamp Blog. AND the Wendy Vecchi sets will be 20% OFF until May 7th! Time to shop!

I knew I wanted to have a LOT of candles on my card so I got to stamping - I think I stamped 25 in all but had a few left over. I used my Sidekick to cut them all out. I love having that little die cut machine on my desk for the little dies - it makes it so easy.
I used the stencil, some Lobster ink and a blending tool to make the angled stripes on the side. The front flap on the card is made with one of the dies in the set but only cutting it on 3 sides leaving the left side longer - I scored a line at the edge of where it tucks under the stenciled piece to help it fold easily.
After I colored all the candles I adhered them to a panel, added the stenciled piece with the flap and added the cake and more candles to the flap. For the inside I used a stamp positioning tool - I put my stamp in place, inked it up, stamped it and then slid the paper up and stamped it again. This keeps it perfectly lined up. I cut this piece to fit under the flap and after adhering it I outlined it with a fine tip black marker.

And since we're starting a new month that also means new prompts for the month long Random Acts of Cardness. Play along with us and share your cards on the

What a cute card! I was thinking that the angled stripes stencil could be used at Christmas for a candy cane pattern too.
