SENDING PAPER HUGS HOP WITH SCRAP'N STAMP

I understand it's a sad and scary time right now but WE ALL need to do our part in helping stop COVID-19 from spreading. PLEASE, if you don't have to go out then don't!
#stayhome
I understand people are missing their families and friends but is a visit right now worth the risk? There are so many other ways to visit such as Facetime, Skype, House Party app, telephone, cell phone and I'm sure there's a lot more ways out there to stay in touch.

The team at Scrap'n Stamp Canada has decided to do a Sending Paper Hugs Hop. It's not the same as a real hug but in the stamping world - it's the next best thing.

These cards are not what I set out to make. I had an image of flowers, birds, butterflies, ladybugs and hearts all colored up and almost ready to go when i ruined the card. ugghhhh It might be salvageable but I decided to set it aside for later and work on something else. I love the Lily Stamp Set from Concord & 9th - it's one that I reach for often and decided to reach for it again. It's never let me down.
This first card is super easy. I stamped the flower and the sentiment onto a white card panel with Versafine Nocturne ink then stamped the center of the flower with Lawn Fawn Doe ink. I added the panel to a white card base with craft foam.

I thought about making a set of cards like the one above and just change out the center of the flower with a different color but what I opted to do instead was a bunch of cards that the flower is a mixture of different patterned papers.

I've been trying to use up my pile of patterned paper and thought this was the perfect time to do it. Plus I find this technique very relaxing and calming. I grabbed my pile of papers and starting looking for similar colors and patterns.

I only made one each of the colors above but I'm going to go back to pile of papers and make 4 more of each.

I had quite a few different black & white patterned papers and while I wasn't too sure about it at first I quickly came to realize I love the way it looked so I made 5 of those.

The stem on each of them is cut from the same patterned paper.

All in all when done I will have a good supply of cards to send out. I have some stamps in my desk and I'm going to set to writing a note in each card and get these into the mail.
I encourage you all to do the same.
I'm sure there are people in your lives that could use a paper hug right now.

Now, before I forget, this is a hop so that means there are prizes.
Be sure to leave me a comment below because someone is going to win a $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE to SHOP at Scrap'n Stamp Canada PLUS there's more. This weekend only and while supplies last if you put the words 'send me a hug' in the comments of your online order then you will receive the Picket Fence Paper Hug Stamp for FREE!

The hop order is listed below for you. I hope we've inspired you to send someone a paper hug and while I'm at it here's a virtual hug for you (HUG)!

So frustrating to start a project with a final outcome in mind and then it doesn't work … sometimes though, when you go back to it, you end up with something even better! This Lily stamp set is so pretty and I love how the petals are all different.

Thank you Lee :) I very much enjoyed making these cards - I think I'll make a few more too as I still have lots of paper to use up.
