Howdy!

Erika posted a weekend color challenge for everyone at StampNation and it's full of my favorite colors - blues and greens - so I knew I was going to be playing along.
I used a few products from the Out West Release:
along with some other goodies I've listed below.

I did one of my, if not my all time favorite technique. Ink smooshing.
I started with a piece of watercolor paper that was cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I prepped it with some anti static powder, stamped the cacti with versamark ink and heat set them with white embossing powder.
Now for the fun part!
I smooshed some ink onto the a large stamping block, spritzed it with some water and then began pressing the stamped paper into the ink in small sections. I dried it with my heat gun in between each color.
I started with Seafoam, then moved on to Stone Blue, Daydream and finished with Juniper Mist.

I decided to cut the panel down so I could make two cards. I used a stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Die set to cut it out and blended some Juniper Mist ink around the edges. I layered it onto a piece of white card stock with just a hint of a border and then layered that piece onto a piece of card stock that I inked up with Juniper Mist again leaving just a hint of a border.

I stamped the Desert Diamonds Background stamp using Stone Blue ink onto a piece of white card stock and die cut it with the large stitched rectangle die from the Postage Stamp Die set. Using a blending tool I added some Juniper Mist ink around the edges and adhered it to a card base with craft foam. I added the cactus panel to the card with some craft foam.

The little flowers are stamped with Sugared Lavender and cut with the coordinating die. I adhered them to the card with some craft foam. The sentiment is from the Ways To Say Hey Die Set and after cutting the letters apart I adhered them directly to the panel.

I love the colors of this challenge - thanks Erika!!

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!
