We're BURSTING With Excitement!

Have you heard the news?
Catherine Pooler Designs has some new and amazing products coming out this week!
She's teamed up with Ken Oliver to make some Color Bursts!
Yes, you can do a happy dance - I certainly did when I heard the news.
I mean look at them!

The colors are Samba, Limoncello, Mardi Gras and Suede Shoes from the Carnivale ink collection and then the two on the end are Liquid Sparkle and those colors are Samba Ice and Limoncello Ice.
There is hours and hours of endless fun in those little containers!

My card today features the Limoncello and Samba Color Burst along with the Limoncello Ice AND a new die that's also being released. It's the Feeling Hexy Cover Plate Die and it's fantastic. I love the name of it.

If you look closely at the background you may recognize another one of Catherine Pooler's dies. It's the To The Point Cover Plate Die and I used it to emboss with.  To do this you layer a cutting plate, the die with the cutting edge facing up, the water color paper, an embossing mat and another cutting plate. Run this through your die cutting machine and you've just embossed with your die - super cool!

I squirted a little of the color burst powder onto the paper - the key word being 'little'. Using a spray bottle I added some water. These things are named appropriately because with that first spray of water the paper BURST with color. I dried it with my heat gun and then I splattered on some of the Limoncello Ice Liquid Sparkle and dried it again.
I ran it through my die cutting machine with the Feeling Hexy Cover Plate Die. I added liquid glue to the back being sure NOT to add glue to the piece that would be considered the frame. I adhered it to a piece of white card stock cut the same size as the die and pulled off the frame leaving the white space and all the hexagon pieces attached.
I added a simple sentiment that I embossed with white onto black card stock and a few sequins to finish it off and then put it on a card base.

I've got lots more to share with you so I'll see you again tomorrow.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!
