Focus On The Good

Focus on the good. 

I love this sentiment! It sounds so easy but at times it can be so hard to do but if you keep at it, it does get easier. This week I'm focusing on camping with my husband for my last week of vacation.

I had such fun making this card.

To make the background piece I mixed up some embossing paste first with Suede Shoes Color Burst Powder and then another small batch with Mardi Gras Color Burst Powder. I placed the Bear Grass stencil onto some card stock and then randomly spread the colored embossing paste over top. I love all the texture and how rich the colors look, especially when you pull off the stencil and you get that pop of white. I used a stitched edge die to cut a panel that I adhered to a white card base with craft foam.

I made a panel of pure fun with the Color Burst powders and die cut a piece with a large circle die. To see how I made the panel of pure fun check out this video - I'll be making cards for a while from all the panels that I made. I cut the circle into two pieces and adhered them onto the embossing paste panel. 

I stamped the sentiment with Midnight ink onto vellum that I cut with the same circle die, filled in the letters with a fine tip black marker and adhered it with little drops of liquid glue where the sentiment is to the Color Burst circle. It's strong glue so I'm not worried about it falling off. 

Lastly I stamped the three trees in Midnight ink and cut them out with the coordinating die. I added two directly to the panel and the last one I popped up with some craft foam for some more dimension.

I really like how this card turned out. It makes me think of the camping trip I'm leaving on in the morning and that's something really good to focus on.
