Capture Life in Full Color

I'm catching up on some challenges at StampNation and the first one I'm playing along with is the weekend color challenge of April 20th. The great thing about all the StampNation challenges is they never close. Whenever you have the time the challenges are there for you to play along with.

The theme for this challenge is to use the foundation colors - any red, green, orange and blue in your stash.

I used Fiesta Blue, Orange Twist, Rockin Red and Grass Skirt - the 4 colors that make up Catherine Pooler Designs
Foundations Collection. The stamp set is Capture Life in Color by Picket Fence and it's beautiful.
I stamped it with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink - one of my two favorite black inks, onto
some watercolor paper using my MISTI.

Next I used an aqua painter brush to add color. I smooshed some ink onto a block, added a bit of water and then using big brush strokes I added the color to the paper. When the first layer dried I added a second layer to brighten it a bit. When it dried I put it back into my MISTI where I left the stamp and stamped the image again to sharpen the image.
I ran it through my die cutting machine using a stitched rectangle die before adding it to a piece of black card stock. I added it to a white card base with some craft foam.

I love cards that come together as easy as this one did.
And I love the sentiment on this stamp!

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!
