Spring Break at StampNation

Hey Everyone!
It's Spring Break at StampNation right now and we're celebrating with all kinds of fun. Challenges and tutorials and lots of fun!

The challenge is to use bright colors, layers and a sentiment that makes you smile. I think this one fits the bill.

I started by doing some ink blending for the background. I used Lemongrass, Tiara, Sauna, Tutti Frutti, Mandarin Spice and Peppermint Scrub in that order from the bottom of the panel to the top overlapping each color and then blending back down to the bottom.
I stamped the sentiment repeatedly up the side using the same inks I blended with and in the same order.

I stamped the flamingos with midnight ink and colored them in with a blender pen using Sweet Sixteen, Be Mine and Party Dress inks with just the tiniest bit of Peppermint Scrub for some shading. I used a little Mandarin Spice for the beaks.

I colored the flowers with Aquatini and little Peppermint Scrub in the center. The leaves are colored in with Garden Party and Lime Rickey.
The 'beach' is made with torn Sand Dunes card stock and sponged with Sand Castle ink. When I was putting the card together I decided to add a 'moon' that I die cut from white card stock. A few sequins from the Inspiration Sequin Mix and some baker's twine and this card is finished.
