Toucan Do It!

The Toucan Do It Stamp Set and the Toucan Do It Dies are two of my favorite things from Catherine Pooler Designs Tropical Treasures Release. There's just something about the birds in this set that grab me which is odd because birds freak me out in real life. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels that way.

We've been celebrating the release with an Instagram Hop and a Blog Hop. Today there is a VIDEO HOP with more great cards to inspire you. Be sure to check them all out and leave comments because there are some $25 Gift Cards to Catherine's STORE to be won.

I shared this card on the Instagram Hop and thought I'd share the details here with you.
This card features the following products:
- Toucan Do It Stamp Set
- Toucan Do It Dies
- To The Point Cover Plate
- Tropical Treasures Designer Paper
- Cabana Prints Designer Paper
- Hex Marks The Spot Stamp Set

I cut a piece of the designer paper from the Cabana Prints Pack to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" and adhered that to the front of a white card base that was cut to 4 1/4 x 11" and scored at 5 1/2". Next I die cut 3 of the To The Point Cover Plate panels with white card stock and layered them together with some liquid glue and the adhered them to the card base.
To make the birds I stamped a bird once on each of the papers in the Tropical Treasures Designer Paper pack. I also stamped the birds 3 times on white card stock. Then I set about cutting the patterned paper birds apart section by section and adhering them randomly to the birds stamped on the card stock. I found this step to be quite enjoyable. I just realized that I forgot to color in the talons and the branches they're sitting on. Oops. I used the coordinating die to cut each bird out.
I stamped out a bunch of the flowers and leaves from the stamp set and colored them in using a blender pen and some coordinating ink colors.
I added a mini action wobble to the back of each bird and then added them to the card. Next I cut out all the flowers and leaves with their coordinating dies and adhered them to the card. Some are adhered directly to the card panel and some are adhered with a layer of craft foam for some dimension.
The sentiment is from the Hex Marks The Spot Stamp Set.

Check out these birds in action. They make me smile.
