Masculine Monday #75

When I started doing Masculine Mondays I wasn't sure how long it would last because masculine cards can be a struggle. But I've managed to have 75 posts - so far.  While they haven't been weekly like I originaly planned I have been fairly consistant and I hope they have helped to inspire you with your masculine cards.

There are days that ideas are just poppin out of my head and other days when there are none. This happens no matter what kind of card I want to make.  When this happens I highly recommend using a sketch and/or keeping things pretty clean and simple. You can always add to an idea but it's pretty hard to pull things away at times.

For this weeks card I went fairly clean and simple. I stamped the boots from the Country Livin' stamp set from Stampin' Up onto the bottom center portion of a piece of whisper white cardstock that was cut to 4 x 5 1/4". I then covered  the boots with some masking paper and then stamped the guitar from the same stamp set. Remove the masking paper and the guitar 'magically' appears to move to be behind the boots. Love how that works!
I used a blender pen to lightly add some color using Catherine Pooler inks.
I layered a piece of Wood Textures Designer Paper from Stampin' Up onto a piece of white cardstock to make it stronger and then cut out the center portion with a stitched rectangle die to make a frame. I added that over the stamped image with some craft foam, added that to the card base and then added a simple sentiment to the top.

And now I have another card to add to my stash.
You could change up the image to be a baseball glove and ball, a fishing rod and tackle box, a soccer ball and cleats, gardening tools and boots, tacos and a beer... The ideas are endless - just make it personal to the person you are making the card for and have fun with it.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!
