This is the last challenge at The Card Concept before we take a break for the summer. The inspiration photo below is beautiful and reminded me of a wedding that I went to years ago so I made a wedding card.
I started by squishing some ink onto my craft mat, spritzing it with water, pouncing my watercolor paper into it and then heat setting it. I repeated these steps with 3 different ink colors. I used Catherine Pooler's Bellini, Be Mine and It's a Girl inks.
Next I stamped the heart shaped flower from Concord & 9th's You Are Here stamp set with versamark ink and heat set it with WOW!'s Turkish Nights Embossing glitter.
After cutting out the flowers I decided the leaves needed to be green. I brushed a little water on the leaves and then dabbed them with paper towel in order to pull off the pink. Next I used Catherine Pooler's Grass Skirt and Spruce inks to paint the leaves.
I cut a piece of Wood Textures designer paper from Stampin' Up with a Stitched Stackable rectangle die from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is from a set called Wedding from Inkadinkado and embossed in white. I used craft foam to add this to the card base. Before adding the heart to the card I scrunched up some linen thread to put behind it.
I love how this card turned out but I really wish the picture was better.
Now it's your turn.
Check out the rest of the design team's cards HERE and then I hope you'll share your card with us in the gallery.
