Masculine Monday #55

I was trying to come up with a card for today's Masculine Monday post and was having some difficulty. I'd start out with what I thought was going to be a great masculine card only to have the cards take a complete u-turn and be anything but masculine. I gave up late last night and went to bed.
This morning I woke up with a card idea and went straight to my craft room to make. I showed it to my husband and he thought it was hilarious and not much makes him laugh on Monday mornings so on my blog it went :)

I started by masking off the Happy Birthday portion of the sentiment from Stampin' Ups Birthday Wit set, inked up the rest in black and stamped it onto the card panel that I cut with a stitched rectangle die from Lawn Fawn. Next I inked up the sentiment in Catherine Pooler's Green Tea ink on to some scratch paper and cut out the Happy Birthday portion. I popped it up onto the card panel with some craft foam.
The mug of beer was one that I had stamped eons ago and found in a pile when I was cleaning up my desk. You could just stamp it directly onto the panel but I had it so I glued it on.
The last thing to do was to adhere it to the card base.

Sometimes we spend all this time trying so hard to come up with the perfect card. I think I was over thinking it all and trying too hard. This morning I went back to the style of card that makes me happiest and also the style that I think works the best for masculine cards. Clean and Simple.

Happy Stampin'
