I screwed up while making this card.
You can see a little bit of what's left of the smudge under the embossed sentiment. I was going to start over but then realized the screw up gave me a couple of ideas on how to add more detail. I love when a screw up actually improves the card.
The sentiment is from a retired SU set called Nailed It.
I used my MISTI to ink it up, slide the paper up and stamp it again. I repeated the process leaving a gap to add the screw.
I embossed the sentiment in white onto early espresso card stock (same color as the card base) and punched it out with the word window punch.
I used rolled up glue dots tucked underneath the screw to make it stick.
Adding the white lines around the frame helped to pull in the embossed sentiment and to give it a more masculine look - it looks more like a leather frame to me now. Popping it up helps it to look more like an actual frame.
Happy Stampin'
