For this week's Masculine Monday card I was inspired by the challenge at
Cards 4 Guyz. The challenge is to make a card inspired by a film,
a book or a song. I chose a song.
Every time someone has a birthday the Birthday Song by the Beatles
pops in my head and I have to sing it.
I used the Bold Wishes stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays to stamp the
sentiment on another piece of paper. I was thinking I'd use a race car, then candles, then a birthday cake...I settled on the birthday cake and went
looking for the stamp I wanted.
BUT I came across this Bottleful Of stamp set from Altenew and went AHA!
I used iced spruce distress oxide ink to stamp the bottle and then thought
I'd stamp it off again to see what it looked liked. I liked the way it didn't cover the stamp completely.
Well, I liked the stamped off image better but I stamped it on the back of some circles I'd stamped for this card. Lucky for me it didn't show through
so I stamped the sentiment over top of the bottle.
I had a piece of paper sitting on my desk that I had swiped some distress oxide inks on and sponged the edges with early espresso. I used that and a
piece of black cardstock to ground the image.
This card didn't end up anything like the idea I originally started out with,
I think it turned out better.
I am also playing along with the anything goes challenge over at
