CAS Birthday

Today I'm playing along with the challenge at Seize the Birthday.
It's a clean and simple challenge.
Their challenges are always fun - head on over and check out
all the cards!

There's no stamping on this card at all.
I used a retired stencil from Stampin' Up! for the background -
first I sponged over it with Chipped Sapphire distress ink from
Tim HoltzI then lifted the stencil and slid it over and up just slightly
and sponged it with Platinum Planet ink from Tsukineko
I love the way it turned out. The shimmer that's on the card is so pretty.
 I wish it photographed better.

I was only going to add the sentiment using a die from Penny Black
called Celebration but then opted for some balloons.
I sponged some of the same Platinum Planet ink on a scrap
of whisper white cardstock from Stampin' Up! and die cut
the balloons using Balloon Builders from Lil' Inker.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Love your stenciled background Susangail. I like how you shifted the stencil and added the shadow with the second color. Great card. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Seize the Birthday.

That's such a cool stencilled background, Susan ... I was convinced you'd used embossing paste till I read how you achieved that fabulous look ... what a brilliant sense of dimension! Anita :)
