These will be cards featuring things found in "nature" either living or
inanimate objects.
One of my favorite places to go is the ocean. I lived within an hours
drive of one until I was 36 and visited it often. For the last
16 years (yes, I know I just gave you my age haha) the ocean has
been almost 4 hours away. The Wetlands set from Stampin' Up!
reminds me of White Rock beach and watching the birds along
the water's edge. Sometimes I'd get fish and chips (always tasted
better eating them at the ocean) and then the birds would be
very friendly.
For this card I used my big shot and my circles framelits to create
a mask for sponging. I love this technique and am eager to try
it with some brighter colors and as a one layer card.
I wanted to keep this card flat enough to mail but still add a little
dimension. I've started using craft foam sheets cut about 1'8"
smaller than the piece I am adding it to instead of dimensionals.
This ensures that the card will lay flat but since they are
only about 1/8" thick, they don't add bulk. I found a
pack of 50 for $3 at the dollar store. I've cut them
in half so I get 100 pieces for $3 - what a deal!!!
