Believe in Magic

Schools are closed today for students and I booked the
day off so my daughter and I are headed to the city. Some of
you know we live in a small town with no craft stores :( and
I am in need of a craft store fix. Plus my daughter has a
dentist appointment - usually I stack a bunch of appointments
all in one day but this time it's just the dentist so we're
going to have a day of fun - shopping and lunch and a visit
to Starbucks for a Chai frappuccino. I might even get to see
my sister!

But first I want to share a card with you. The challenge at
Merry Monday is to use a Santa on your card. I love this image
of Santa! I found him on a free coloring page website. I just
shrunk him down to fit on the card and colored him in with some
blendabilities and a gray pencil crayon.

I don't use a lot of dsp anymore - I've really embraced the CAS style
of card making but I have A LOT in my stash so I am trying to use more
of it but still keep my cards CAS. I've seen others cover the card base
completely in a dsp and I always like how it looks but when I did it
here, I didn't love it at first but it's grown on me.

There's also a challenge at StampNation that is to use red on your
project. You can use as little or as much as you want. I thought these
challenges fit perfectly together.

supplies:
from Stampin' Up! unless noted
card stock: whisper white, cherry cobbler
dsp: season of style
digital image: free coloring page
stamp set: Christmas Carols (CAS-ual Fridays)
ink: memento black
blendabilities: cherry cobbler, skin tones, smoky slate, pink pirouette
big shot: 4 petals die (CAS-ual Fridays), large stitched rectangle stackables (lawn fawn)
EK gray pencil crayon
basic pearls

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

This is a beautiful Santa, Susan! Love how you've colored him and used the DSP! (I have problems using DSP and boy do I have a stash!) Thanks for sharing this with us at Merry Monday!

I think your Santa turned out beautifully and that the DSP really showcases him! I hear you though on having SO much DSP...I tend to hoard it and then never use it! Hope you and your daughter had a fun day shopping! :0)

Great job on this card, Susan. I think I saw it on StampNation earlier this week. That Santa image is one I've not seen before. I love what you've done with is.
